The Upper Moreland Boys Varsity soccer team defeated Springfield 2-1 in overtime today. The home Spartans jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the game on a cross and finish. The visiting Bears score came from Max Gerlach as he banked it off a Springfield player from just inside the endline and in to tie the score with 13 minutes left in regulation. The overtime winner came from Michael Kane from a Logan Taylor assist to secure the victory for the Bears. Aaron Snyder had 2 key saves in net to keep the Bears in the game. Upper Moreland will take on William Tennent on Tuesday to battle for the lead in the Freedom Division.
