The Upper Moreland Boys Varsity soccer team opened the season with a 3-1 victory over visiting Lower Moreland. The Bear gave up an early goal off a failed clearance on a corner kick to go down 1-0. Mateo Infante converted a penalty kick after Travis Slear was fouled in the penalty area to even the score at 1-1 in the 18th minute of the first half. The bears scored 2 more goals in the second half to cement the victory. The second goal occurred in the 66th minute off a corner service from Mateo Infante to Travis Slear to go up 2-1. The final goal in the 72 minute was assisted by Jack Cattie who made his way behind the defense to set up Mateo Infante for the insurance marker. The defence played well to preserve the win after going down early. The coaches would like to thank all the seniors and their families who celebrated senior awards with the victory. Upper Moreland's next match is home Friday against Bensalem at 3:30 in the stadium.
