Upper Moreland Comments
The Upper Moreland Bears boys’ soccer team defeated Plymouth Whitemarsh in dramatic fashion Wednesday afternoon by the score of 2-1. PW was up at the end of the first half 0-1 but the Bears put together a strong second half effort to come from behind including the game winner from Tommy Hays in the final two minutes of play. Leading the way for the Bears was Carl Wambold and Tyler Foerst who’s “never say die” attitude sparked the teams’ determination. Nate Roberts tallied his first goal of the season with a long shot which got away from the goalie and into the back of the goal. From the point on, UM rode the momentum all the way through the 88th minute when Tyler Foerst found the ball deep in the offensive corner. He sent a cross in front of the net and Tommy Hays deflected the ball passed the PW keeper giving the Bears the lead and eventual victory. Upper Moreland moves to 7-1 on the season with their latest victory.
