Three games this week and three wins—I am really proud of our girls and the grit they showed this week. Cheltenham showed up today, and they did a good job in their defensive third getting numbers back. We were able to keep the ball in our offensive end, we were struggling to finish. With a minute left in the first half, Lizzie Walker placed a corner in front of the goal, Molly Dancer was able to get a knee to it and Madeline Cox was able to bury it in the goal. Cox has been working so hard on the front line for us—she plays tough, and she is gritty—and she was able to get us on the scoreboard. In the second half, we had another corner where Lizzie Walker found Steph Jones who headed the ball at the far post. Brogan Neely was able to redirect the ball into the back of the net.
We were able to get a good rotation of girls into the match. Solid contributions from Gracie Costello, Annalise Messina, Lizzie Walker, Deanna Swedberg, Maggie Brophy, and shoutout to Molly Dancer with her first varsity points!
