A pleasing end to a long regular season. Incredibly proud of the girls for fighting back from a slow start this year, we were 4-4 in late September and we couldn't quite figure ourselves out. Credit to the group for working hard, putting the team above themselves and going through the rest of our schedule 9-1 to be co-champions of the division. Even after losing to Neshaminy this week the girls battled through back to back days to come out with two wins.
The game today was a little slow at times, I think the conditions weren't helpful for either team and we took advantage of our opportunities when they came. We started well and had a couple of good opportunities early before Mia Cairone was able to find her way through their defense and slot one home. It was a similar pattern in the second half, Bensalem created some good chances and were unlucky not to score at least once, but Mia came through again late in the game to finish another chance to seal the win.
We were fortunate to rotate a lot of players today, and we got solid minutes from everyone, although maybe slightly disjointed at times it was good preparation for next week. Our run in the last 4 weeks has given us confidence, we've had some great wins in that time and we feel like on our day we can challenge any team in the district, but it's up to us to prepare and be ready for the challenge ahead.
