Pleased to get a win after a long break, you never know how the team will react after that time off but we felt like the girls played well, especially in the second half. They did a nice job of making adjustments from half time and really using the spaces on the field that we talked about. Bensalem has played a couple of games in the last few days and I think our energy and freshness were a factor as the game went on, but they did a nice job at times creating some chances with their ball movement and we had to rely on some good GK from Reese Ludwig and Ellie Beldowicz for the shutout.
In the first half we started reasonably well and created some good openings, our first goal came when we created a turnover high up the field and we were able to release Mia towards the corner, she was able to cut it back across goal for Isabel Diaz to finish. After that I thought we controlled a lot of the game but Bensalem still had some dangerous counter attacks and then just before half time a loose ball fell to Sara Tyler, she was able to connect on it quickly from 25 yards out for great hit.
The second half was similar, we did score early through a nice run and finish from Sarina Igval, but credit to Bensalem, they kept playing and trying to create and our back line had to continue to work for the win.
Overall I thought we did a good job today, no particular stand out perfomances but just a solid team win.
