The Wissahickon girls varsity team lost 2-1 to a very physical and skilled CR North Squad. The Trojans scored first at the 11 minute mark on a beautiful pass from Sophmore Laura Frankenfield to Senior captain Alex Schaefer. Goal keeper Rachel Stone and seniors Jackie Carradorini and Ava Esposito played smart agressive defense to keep the game close: it was tied 1-1 at the half. CR North scored the lone goal in the second half to secure the victory, but Coach Willis is very optomistic about the season. Every player on the team had substantial playing time and contributed to the effort. Freshman Sammi Silar is a great addition to the squad and really solidifies our defense.
