Another difficult away game for us today, but I felt the performance was improved. We started well and were able to win the 50/50s in the midfield and possess a bit. CR South had some strong players up top that were quick and got in behind frequently in the first half. Unfortunately in that time they were able to gain the lead and we were chasing from there.

I thought our defense really stepped up well in the second half. Maggie Fisher did a good job of getting everyone communicating and on the same page. Alexis Stefanowicz stepped up to fill in for Ava Steidle for part of the half, and Abby Kolb and Natalie Rankin played well also. Throughout the match we were able to create some chances for ourselves, but unfortunately weren't able to apply the finishing touch. South's keeper had to make a few saves on some chances in the second half, and I felt like as time wore on we were getting more stable footing. Jordan Hange had a really good opportunity in the closing minutes, but her shot was saved by South's goalkeeper.

Megan McCollum had a really strong game as well, as she ran all throughout the midfield working to launch us into attack. Kait DiCandilo also helped contribute in the midfield, stabilizing and organizing after the first two goals. On Friday we will look forward to returning to our home turf, as we try to put together a complete 80 minutes of strong play.
