Christopher Dock 2 vs Springfield 3
Goal 1 Tierney Carabba - assisted Kiersten McLennan
Goal 2 Tierney Carabba - assisted Ali Roy
Goal 3 Tierney Carabba - assisted Jill Simmons
Springfield took the lead with a great transitional attack with a quick series of small passes up the pitch with a goal resulting off one final give and go between Kiersten McLennan and Tierney Carabba. Christopher Dock countered in the first half off an extremely suspect call made on Springfield ending the half at 1-1. Springfield was not deterred. The second half saw continued pressure from Springfield with counter after counter. Tierney Carabba netted the second goal off a pass from Ali Roy to take the lead. Great hustle and continuing offensive pressure forced Dock's defense to breakdown - Carabba got her first hattrick of the season off a long ball from the stopper Jill Simmons.
Springfield won the Christopher Dock Tournament. The team worked as a unit and played their game. Every player contributed to the success by giving it their all - great defense from Maureen Leis, Taylor Koroncai, Shannon Gunning, Sarah Thomas and Jill Simmons. The midfields transition offensively and defensively was fantastic - Molly Wheatley, Paige Morrison, Shannon Gunning, Ali Roy and Kiersten McLennan. And the involvement of forwards in tracking back and participating in defense as well as the consistent runs and communication up top led the forwards pulling it all together to capitalize on our goals - Tierney Carabba, Annie Crudele, Maureen Leis, Ali Roy, Becca Olson, Jess Bellis and Kristin Shapiro. And our goalkeeper - made some great saves as well as communicated to keep the team in the games - Julia Boles.
