This was a great high school soccer game. I thought both teams played well, Neshaminy definitely had the better of the first half in terms of possession and territory but we came back strongly in the second and pushed all the way to the end. This was probably our best performance of the season so far. We are still a relatively young team, and for a number of our girls this is their first Varsity season. They are beginning to understand what it takes to compete in the SOL National and the intensity of these games. We need to use this performance to kick start the rest of our season. I thought our back line did very well today, Lilly Ries and Abby Kollar were excellent defensively. Grace Needham played very well in goal again, she was aggressive in her decision making and overall play which brought confidence to the rest of the team. Paige Addis held the ball up well, harassed defenders and caused turnovers all game, she was terrific. The girls were disappointed with the score but I think they recognized the quality of their performance today and what we need to do from here on out.
