Bit of a bounce back game for us in terms of our performance. In the past two weeks we have had a hard time finding consistency and I think we took a big step forward in that regard today after staying organized and having the better share of possession throughout the match and overtime today.

Our back line tonight was really organized and disciplined thanks to sophomore Emma Hunter and Senior captain Alexis Stefanowicz. We never really felt overly threatened with the combo of their organization and senior goalkeeper Abby Allen’s sure hands at the back. Just in front of them we got a great performance from senior captain Maggie Fisher and junior Hailey Rohr in the midfield. Both our backline and our midfield did a really great job taking care of the ball tonight and maintaining possession, which was our goal going into the match. Maggie was finding some nice passes in behind and Hailey was winning balls everywhere and putting her body on the line to help the team. Ashlee Rose (freshman) made a big impact in the midfield as well, winning balls and working to create chances for us.

We had a hard time creating quality chances for ourselves tonight. Our best chance probably came in the last thirty second of the match after Hailey looked to capitalize on a ball won off a good press. She was getting ready to let loose a shot at the top of the 18. Unfortunately, she was cleaned out and fouled. Natalie Rankin was rushed to take the free kick with only seconds left on the clock. It ended up being a great strike at the far post, but Bensalem’s keeper made a good save. In overtime, we looked a bit tired from back-to-back night games and just couldn’t get the finishing touch we needed.
