Central Bucks East - 1
The Indians hosted Central Bucks East on Monday evening, as they looked to rebound from back to back losses against Central Bucks West and South. It wasn't easy, but Souderton was able to avoid being swept by the Central Bucks schools in three consecutive games.
Souderton started strong, controlling much of the play with sharp passing, forcing East to defend. With 23 minutes left in the first half, Souderton found the breakthrough as Hannah Alderfer found Averie Doughty in the center midfield. Doughty created some space for herself with a good first touch and unleashed powerful shot from distance to put the hosts up 1-0. The Indians continued to try and play possession, and were able to limit East chances and force them into taking shots form distance. The visitors best chance of the half came with 15 left to play, as they earned a dangerous free kick just outside of Souderton's box. In the end, the shot was saved well by Souderton's Morgan Molyneaux. Before the end of the half, Souderton doubled their lead as Doughty grabbed her second goal of the match. Grace Kelley found Alderfer on a quick throw the ensuing cross was tapped home by Doughty.
East refused to lay down after the strong first half display from Souderton. Two minutes into the second half East capitalized on an opportunity after finding space at the corner of Souderton's penalty area and firing a shot into the top corner of the far post. For a moment, Souderton was on their heels, and East looked like they might draw level. The Indians quickly found their foothold once more and began connecting passes as they were in the first half. With less than 30 to play in the half, Taylor Yoder created space for herself in the center of the field as she dribbled past two East defenders to send a pass wide to Katie Pazdziorko, who took the ball wide before sending a dangerous cross. Alderfer was in the box waiting for the cross with a defender on her heels, and instead of taking the shot herself let it roll to Doughty who took a touch and fired home a shot to complete her Hat Trick.
East pushed for a response, but Souderton's defense held strong. The Indians almost put the game out of reach with 9 left to play, in a move that was almost identical to Doughty's third goal. This time Yoder left the cross for Ly Vu, who sent a shot inches wide of the post. Despite East's efforts for a response, and Souderton's efforts to extend their lead, the game ended 3-1.
