Souderton - 1
CB East - 5

The score line doesn't show it, but the match felt like a close hard-fought battle for the first 50-60 minutes. In that time, out team stepped up and put forth a strong effort for senior night, but in the end, we didn't have the legs left to see it through for the full 80 minutes.

In the first half, East grabbed a goal after using their pace up front to slip in behind our backline. We were able to make some adjustments defensively to recognize the through balls and I felt like we had a good plan in place. Kait DiCandilo did a really good job of organizing our line and getting our defenders to move as a unit, often leaving Easts forwards offsides. Unfortunately, East was able to capitalize on a half chance from the run of play before the end of half to put them up 2-0.

We were able to grab a goal of our own in the first half, through a well-placed ball over the top from Abby Kolb. The ball eventually found Avery Nogami, who was running in on goal to nod the bouncing ball up and over the keeper to make it 2-1. In the last five minutes of the half, Ashlyn Odenwald came up huge with a number of saves to keep it 2-1 as we entered the half.

Moving into the second half, our organization was still strong and Odenwald was standing on her head making a number of saves to keep us in it. Unfortunately, we started to waive a bit, and due to injuries we weren't able to keep legs on the field as fresh as we would have liked.

We play North Penn away on Friday.
Central Bucks East Comments
East was able to pick up its second win of the week, this one on the road at Souderton. Two early first-half goals from Junior Cam Williams opened the score sheet. Souderton was able to pull the lead back to one before halftime.

In the second half, East was able to extend their lead with goals from a deflected corner, hitting off of Courtney Curry into a Souderton defender, as well as a goal a piece for Elise Duffy and Jackie Valenti.

"I thought our kids played a very good game tonight with contributions from everywhere. The trust our group has in each other and the depth we possess just makes the grind of the season a little easier. Cam and Ashley Macomber were lights out in the first half tonight. Sophie Schorn and Sofia Mignon in the center of the park played very good games and gave us that stability in possession and defensively and I thought Abby D'Ambrosio came in out wide and linked well with Elis Duffy and Issie Reid in the final third. I thought second half we hit another gear and was really happy with the number of chances we created tonight. Elise continues to find a way to get on the scoresheet and Jackie Valenti's goal was huge. She is one of those kids that works so hard and is beyond dedicated to our group so it was a great moment to see her get that goal. I know it meant a lot to her and it meant a lot to our group.

I have to give credit to Souderton's backline and goalkeeper tonight. I thought they came in with a number of moments that prevented goal scoring opportunities. That's not easy to teach so to see them defend as well as they did in such decisive, pressure situations, so respect to Ian and his group for seeing through those plays and making the game difficult.
