Souderton Comments
On Saturday evening Souderton hosted Haverford. Unlike the two teams' meeting during the regular season, this match would not end in a 0-0 draw, and the winner would advance to the PIAA District One Semi Finals.

Souderton came out with a lot of energy, boosted by their recent run of form and longest winning streak of the season. Ten minutes into the first half, sophomore Averie Doughty had a chance to put the home team up, but her header hit the crossbar and went out for a goal kick.

Souderton continued to apply pressure and senior Erin O'Keefe was constantly threatening and pushing pressure on Haverford's back line. With 18 minutes left in the half, O'Keefe received the ball in the attacking third and was able to beat nearly the entire back line with a series of moves that found her one-on-one with the goalkeeper. O'Keefe capped off the impressive solo run with a nice finish to the far post to put the home team up 1-0. For the remainder of the half, Souderton pressed forward, but wasn't able to double their lead before the whistle blew for halftime.

The start of the half marked a slight shift in momentum, as Souderton worked to absorb pressure from a series of direct attacking from Haverford. Senior goalkeeper Lindsey Pazdziorko and the Souderton defense did well to mitigate the danger, as they communicated to control the long balls over the top of the defense.

As the half wore on, Souderton found more of the ball and was able to work into a more dangerous possession. In the last ten minutes the ball rarely left Haverford's half, as Souderton continuously created opportunities and earned themselves a series of corner kicks. Haverford was frantically defending the onslaught of attacks and had to clear the ball off their line with a series of spectacular saves and goal-line defending.

Souderton was unable to increase their lead, but managed to close out the 1-0 win to advance to a home field advantage semi-final against Penncrest on Tuesday.
