We opened the season with excellent teamwork on both ends of the field. The last few days of training we have really focused on our system, ball movement, and formation--it was nice to see how our girls improved. Our defense stayed organized and disciplined, shutting down scoring opportunities with strong efforts from Aubrey Scarpitti, Jayda Rivera, Kiera Hess, Emma Kramer, and Gracie Costello. In the midfield, Eva Gorrell, Maggie Brophy, Brooklyn Kavanagh, and Julie Albert stood out as they controlled possession and set the tone of play. Keiley Hawk and Leah King also put in quality minutes offensively and defensively in the midfield.
Both goals came from well-executed team efforts, showcasing unselfish passing and sharp communication. The first came from Eva Gorrell finding Madeline Cox on a perfectly placed cross, while the second saw Julie Albert set up a smooth combination play that led to a Maggie Brophy finish. Although she didn’t make the scorebook today, Brogan Neeley had a stellar game, playing a key role in creating offensive chances.
Overall, it was a complete performance that reflected the hard work the team has been putting in during training and marked an exciting step forward in building momentum for the season.
