Upper Moreland came out strong for their home opener versus New Hope Solebury. The first half was very evenly played, with both teams getting opportunities. Upper Moreland, was able to get on the scoreboard when Sarah Veneziale’s corner kick bounced off a New Hope defender and into the goal. At the start of the second half, the Bears played in their system and were able to generate multiple opportunities. New hope was able to counter and put one in. The Bears rallied five minutes later when Sarah Veneziale found Megan O’Donnell on the left flank. O’Donnell, beat her defender and blasted a shot past the New Hope goalie. The Bears continued on the offense when freshman Emma Frasca, found Kathryn Morrow outside of the 18. Morrow beat her defender and placed the ball in the back of net.

It was a great team win today. From our defense through our midfield and offense—the play was balanced and controlled. Midfielder Brigid Ounan, has a strong showing today as well. In goal, Jaclyn Martino played with confidence and poise having seven saves in the game.
