We knew going into this game that we were considered the underdog. I believe the team took this took heart and played the best complete 80 minutes of the season. We were in a defensive formation for the majority of the game and knew this would put us at a disadvantage. Playing this way does not allow us to create opportunities offensively and gives the lone striker alot of ground to cover. The girls up top did a great job of applying pressure when needed. The midfield and defense played a cohesive game and made very few mistakes while handeling the ball and making good decisions. Sami Roby, Mia Rahn, Abi Meehan, Lia Jablonowski and Margot Vant Hoenderdaal played a very strong game defensively. The star of the game for us though was the play of Aubrie Maldonado senior keeper. She was aggresive off her line and made excellent decisions overall. She got a touch on just about every corner they had. As a coaching staff we were very proud of the way the team played today.
