We (PW) came out asleep in the first half. Lot of illness this week. Long bus ride. Got to Tennent late and Tennent dominated the first half. We didn’t do much right. We were down 1-0 at half.
When the coaches walked over to the team at halftime, the players were all talking to each other. It wasn’t silent. The coaches didn’t have much to say. I told them their season hung on the first ten minutes of the second half.
Angelina Balcer came out of the half firing, beating her defender and scoring a goal in the first minute of the half
About ten minutes later, she beat another defender and crossed the ball in to freshman Keira Whelan who played the volley over the goalkeeper to take the lead.
Tennent battled and threatened for the final 30 minutes but we held on for a big win.
