The Wissahickon girls varsity soccer team won an exciting 3-2 overtime victory over Souderton on Friday.
The Trojans were down 2-0 at half time before Senior Captain Alex Schaefer drove in a goal to spark the Wiss offense. A few minutes later co-captain Maureen Beichert played a beautiful corner kick into the box where sophmore Cailin Grey spiked a header past Souderton’s keeper to tie the game. Finally, in the second overtime period Schaefer would strike again. Sophmore Ellen Claire Benbow played a perfect soft loft into the box and Schaefer powered her way past two defenders and drove the ball into the back of the net for the game winner. Other key contributors in the game were Junior Val Pardon and Seniors Ava Esposito, and Kelly Pierce.

Wissahickon’s JV girls defeated Souderton 1-0. The Trojan’s loan goal came from Jess Kleman midway through the second half.
