Norristown Comments
Norristown softball lost 11-9 to CB East today. It was an offensive slugfest with both teams collecting 14 hits. Leading the offense for Norristown was Gabbie Berry (3B) with 3 hits, while Stephanie "Sweat" DiNolfi, Gwyn Botley, Julia Santoro, Sammi Kidd, & Sara Rosetti each had 2 hits apiece. DiNolfi, Botley, & Rosetti flashed the leather on defense with multiple putouts. Botley took the loss pitching a complete game with 1 strikeout. Norristown softball is back in action tomorrow at home against Cheltenham.

Norristown took the lead 1-0 in the top of the 1st, but East answered with a leadoff homerun by Caroline Schoenewald followed by singles from Vavala, Murray, Julia Schoenewald, a walk by Johnson, and a few more singles from Gladnick and Caroline Schoenewald for East to take a 7-1 lead in the bottom of the first. East added two more runs in the 3rd, and a run in the 5th and one in the 6th. Norristown fought back after the first scoring 4 runs in the top of the 2nd, a leadoff single by Hampmeier followed by a sac bunt by Copestick and a walk by Spause brought the top of the line up back around with 1 out. Dinolfi, had a single, Botley got on with a fielders choice, and Berry had a triple followed by a single by Santoro. With the score 11-5 going into the 7th inning, Norristown made it interesting capitalizing on 3 East errors and scoring 4 runs before the inning ended and the game finished 11-9.
