Central Bucks West Comments
Central Bucks jumped off to an 8-0 lead on Hatboro-Horsham by crossing the plate eight times in the bottom of the first inning. The Bucks exploded for eight runs in the first off of six hits and two walks. Katherine James led off the first inning by getting hit by a pitch, Jill Boyle followed with a hard hit single and then Ana Glemser drove in the first run of the day with a long double into the right center field gap. Laila Murray would drive in the Bucks second run with an RBI ground out. Up 2-0 with one out in the first, Central Bucks West would go on to tack on six more runs. An RBI single off the bat of a very hot hitter in Taylor Hooven and a ground rule double by Marley Swain kept the inning going for the Bucks. Sammy Hooven drew a one out walk and Taylor Sheplock also walked with the bases full to drive in another run. Up 4-0 at that point, Katherine James and Jill Boyle helped finish off the big inning by both getting hard hit singles driving in two runs apiece. The Bucks were not done scoring after the first inning. They would go on to score three more runs in the second and five in the fourth. There were many hitters who contributed big hits for West. Marley Swain and Taylor Hooven both kept their hot bats alive. Taylor Hooven went three for four with two runs scored and three RBIs. Marley Swain was two for three with two doubles, she scored three runs and drove in two more. Central Bucks West won four of their last five games and during that span of games, Taylor Hooven is 10 for 22 for a .454 average and Marley Swain is 11 for 16 for a .688. But Central Bucks got plenty of hitting from some of their other players, including Katherine James who went one for two with three runs scored and two RBIs. Jill Boyle was two for four with two runs scored and three RBIs. Laila Murray and Ana Glemser both contributed RBI hits for the Bucks. Ana Glemser again turned in an outstanding performance in the circle. She pitched five full innings, giving up only four hits, two runs and struck out six batters in the shortened game.
