Pennridge Comments
It may be early in the season, but the last day in March had a playoff
atmosphere at Central Bucks West.

The Pennridge Lady Rams battled it out with CB West for 7 grueling innings.
Pennridge had a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning when CB
scored Aimee Smith on a hit by Jenn Toland. West loaded the bases with a
threat to open up the game when the Rams right fielder freshman Sarah Yerk
ran down a fly ball in foul territory for the third out of the inning to
hold on to a 2-1 lead.

West's pitcher Taylor Bobek sent the Rams back to the field after only four
batters came to the plate in the top of the seventh.

West threatened again in the bottom of the seventh with runners on first and
second with one out. Pennridge short stop Kelsey Detweiler made a nice play
to get out number two. CB now had runners on second and third with a chance
to not only tie it, but win it.

Penrridge pitcher Erica Smale wanted no part of it. She fired one pitch
that was hit right back at her as she picked it up and threw to first to
seal the win.

CB WEst had runners on second and third base in the 5th , 6th, and 7th
innings. Much credit goes to the pitching and defense of the Lady Rams.

The Rams are now 3-1 overall after losing their first game to non league
powerhouse Christopher Dock.

Pennridge will get CB test number two when they face Powerhouse Central
Bucks South on Thursday at the Druckenmiller Field.
