The Owls notched their second win of the season today with an 8-1 win over Truman.

Camryn Pickering went 2-4 with 2 doubles, Lina Sponheimer went 2-4 with a double and a walk and Kayla Clarkson was 2-3 with a walk. Destiny Howard was 1-4 with a homerun. We were patient and for swinging at our pitches collecting 8 free passes.

Kayla Clarkson was dominate on the mound today. She tossed a complete game with 15 Ks. Kay was not only throwing hard today her ball had great movement on it for a ton of swing and misses.

We had to shuffle our game plan a bit whe during pre-game warmups Morgan Edwards who was slated to play 2nd took a ball that tipped off a glove to the face and broke her nose. I was nervous that it would affect the girls a little bit but they didn’t let them.

Freshman Julia Fraioli stepped right in to get the start at 2nd and recorded 3 of the 6 outs made in the field. The other 2 were fly balls to Left Fielder Pickering and Catcher Ashlyn Merz throwing out a runner attempting to steal.
