Neshaminy - 3, Hatboro - 1
The Neshaminy Redskins won a hard fought battle against Hatboro Horsham on Thursday. The Redskins were finally able to plate a run in the top of the fourth inning, where senior Mia Barone got things started with a double to left field followed by junior Kennedie Ruth, who worked her way to a walk. Barone and courtesy runner sophomore Peyton Tierney each advanced a base on a pass ball. Barone then scored on yet another pass ball. Junior Amanda Slabicki then stepped up to the plate and hit a double to left field, scoring Tierney. The final RBI of the game goes to senior Kylee Jones who hit a solo homerun over the right field fence. The Redskins were led by Jones and Slabicki, who each went two for three with an RBI each. Barone added a hit as well. In the field, the highlight of the game goes to Jones. With a runner on first with one out, a Horsham batter drilled a line drive up the middle. Jones went airborne to catch the ball and completed the double play from her knees. Ruth earned the win in the circle, facing 26 batters, striking out six, allowing only five hits and one run.
