North Penn vs. Central Bucks East

CB East won against North Penn 5-4 in 10 innings.



After having runners on 1B and 2B in the 1st inning with no outs, Jess Haug moved the runners on a fielders choice but East was unable to capitilize on the opportunity.



North Penn took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning when Kulp got a 1 out single and was able to get to third when the ball was misplayed and got past centerfielder Ali Vavala. With Kulp on third, Marchozzi followed by with an RBI single. East made a pitching change at that point and Sierra Huckfeldt was replaced by Jayme Ziegler. Bradstreet kept the rally going with a 1 out single. Tumaz grounded into a fielders choice that got the lead runner (Marchozzi) at third for the 2nd out. The inning ended when Holcovage struck out.



In the bottom of the 4th East rallied back to tie the game at one run each. Laura Murray started the inning with a single, and after Chase struck out Julia Schoenewald walked to get on base. A single by Kaylynn Johnson that dropped in between the infield and outfield allowed Murray to score and Aughenbaugh grounded out to end the inning.



In the bottom of the 5th inning Sam Gladnick started the game with a single, followed by a single by Caroline Schoenewald and a single by Ali Vavala that allowed a run to score. East took the 2-1 lead with the next 2 batters flying out and grounding out to end the inning.



In the top of the 7th inning North Penn battled back and capitilized on defensive mistakes by East to take the 3-2 lead. With 2 outs Maher and Holweger walked and Kulp had an RBI single that would tie the game. After Marchozzi walked, East catcher Julia Schoenewald tried to pick off the runner at third and when the ball got past third baseman Jess Haug on an errant throw, Holweger scored. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th East didn't give up, Caroline Schoenewald hit a 2-out triple to keep East alive and Ali Vavala had a slap single that scored Schoenewald to tie the game. The 8th and 9th innings were scoreless.



In the 10th inning with international tiebreaker, Bradstreet moved Marchozzi (runner) to third and Tumaz also grounded out. Holcovage had an RBI single to take the lead 4-3 lead. In the bottom of the 10th, Caroline Schoenewald had a single that moved Gladnick (runner) to third and after Vavala struck out, Jess Haug had a single to score Gladnick to tie the game. When Laura Murray attempted a bunt Caroline Schoenewald was thrown out at third for the second out of the game. But, Murray delivered a single to keep the rally alive and with 2 outs and runners on 1B and 2B Allie Chase delivered a blast in the outfield gap that would allow Haug to score for East's win.
