HOME TEAM
Pennridge Comments
Haley Taylor was 4 for 4 at the plate and lead the offense as she had 2 singles and 2 home runs with 5 RBI. Taylor lead off the 2nd inning for the Lady Rams with a solo home run to put the Lady Rams up 1-0. That opened the flood gates as the host put up 7 runs in the second inning. Taylor ended the game in the bottom of the 6th with her second home run of the game, a two run walk off home run as she drove in Briana Gery who had reached on an error to lead off the 6th. Morgan Labs, Amanda O'Hara, and Emily Mayhew all had doubles on the day as Pennridge tallied 12 hits on the day. All this offense overshadowed an outstanding performance from Emily Mayhew in the pitching circle as she went 5 innings giving up only 1 hit and one unearned run. She struck out 4 with no walks. Mayhew was also 2 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBI. "This week we did a lot of hitting and bunting off of live pitching. It seemed as though we were just not seeing the ball against Upper Perk when we only had 3 hits and scored no runs. I think that it helped." Liz Nace came in to finish the pitching for the Lady Rams with one inning pitched, one hit, no runs and no walks.
