Souderton and Pennridge battled through seven innings in a night game at Pennridge yesterday. Heather Milligan got the start for Souderton. After giving up a run in the first inning, Milligan settled down to keep Pennridge off the board for 4 innings. Meghan Weisel came in in the fifth and allowed only 3 hits on her way to earning her first career save. Offensively, Souderton was led by Sarah Derstine who was unstoppable at the plate. She went 3 for 3, with a double, homerun, and 3 RBIs. Paige Shelly, Nikki Canfield, and Corrine Stiles also contributed extra base hits in the win. Defensively, the team played solid infield and outfield to keep Pennridge from mounting a comeback. Souderton plays an important home game Friday versus North Penn at home.
