This first game of the season went 10 innings. Upper Perk got a single run in the first inning after C Umstead scored after reaching with a double(3 for 4, double, IBB). Upper Perk made the score 2-0 in the 3rd when they added another run by Umstead. Pennridge tied the game at 2 in the 5th inning. Lisa Bahmueller lead off with a bunt for base hit. Brigdet Casey bunted and reached on a throwing error and Bahmueller advanced to 3rd and Casey went to 2nd. Emily Mayhew then stroked a single to right centerfield to score both runners. Then in the 10th, starting with the International Tiebreaker and a runner at 2nd to start the inning, Upper Perk sacrificed to move the runner to third. With one out Umstead was intentionally walked and she then took 2nd base. The next batter laced a line shot to Alison Horne playing second who caught it for the 2nd out and then threw to Brooke labs at 3rd to double off the lead runner and end the inning. The Lady Rams then started the bottom of the 10th with Alicia Phillips on 2nd. Mayhew laid down a perfect bunt and reached safely. With runners at the corners, Brooke Labs was then hit with the first pitch and the bases were loaded. Haley Taylor stepped up and ripped a sacrifice fly ball to right center and scored Phillips from 3rd on the tag up for the victory! Paige DeCew was the winning pitcher. She threw all 10 innings, with 6 Ks, 1 IBB, scattered 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run. The losing pitcher for Upper Perk was H. Edwards.
