Pennsbury Comments
Val Buehler threw a 3 hit shut out as the number one seed Falcons held off the visiting Pennridge Rams. In the 2nd inning, with one out, Lauren Cregan worked a 7 pitch walk. Farryl Groder then sacrificed to move Cregan to 2nd base. Then DP Dani Litwin hit a 1-1 pitch into shallow right center field to plate Cregan. that would be all the Falcons would get, and all they would need.
Pennridge Comments
The Lady Rams had several chances. Emily Mayhew led off the game with a double to centerfield. Lisa Bahmueller then sacrificed to move Mayhew to third. But Pennsbury ace Buehler recorded back to back strike outs to get out of the trouble. With 2 out in the 4th, Emily Hofmann singled to right centerfield and then took second on a bobble by the right fielder. She moved to third on a wild pitch. Haley Taylor then popped to 2nd to end the inning. The Rams only other runner came in the 5th when Morgan Labe singled. She was stranded at 2nd. The Rams were outstanding defensively. Paige DeCew scattered 6 hits, 4 Ks, and only one BB. In the 5th, Pennsbury got a lead off double by Dani Litwin(2 for 2). She was sacrificed to third. Then Boltersdorf hit a ground ball to DeCew's left side. She fielded the ball and threw to home in time for an out. Then in the bottom of the 6th, the Falcons had runners at 2nd and third with one out. DeCew then struck out Cregan and Groder flew out to centerfield to end the inning.
