It was a good win for the Lower Moreland Lions today securing a 4-3 win over the Springfield Spartans, and LM pitcher Liz Neeld recorded her 100th strikeout this season.

The Lions scored 2 runs on three hits in the 2nd inning. Jordyn MacPhee had the first hit with a single to right field, Payton Lennon walked, and Natalie Shiloni hit a line drive up the middle to load the bases. Payge Lennon singled to center field, scoring MacPhee. Nikki Sahl walked and Payton Lennon crossed the plate.

Lower Moreland added one more run in the 5th inning when Neeld walked, stole second and third base, and scored on Sophia Azzarano's base hit to right field.

Springfield tied the game with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Taylor Schulz doubled to left field and scored on Norah Conlin's single to center field, and Maura Solomon got on bae with a single to left field. Charlotte Drapkin followed with an infield ground ball with what should have been the third out of the inning, but an errant throw resulted in both Conlin and Solomon crossing the plate for the Spartans and the game was tied at 3.

But Lower Moreland was not going to let this game get away. Neeld led off the top of the 7th inning with a hard hit to right field. Neeld stole second base and then scored the go ahead run on a single by Juliet Yavas. Lower Moreland loaded the bases, but Springfield got the third out and left them loaded.

The Spartans were at the top of their batting order in the bottom of the 7th inning, but the Lions shut them down to secure the win, 4-3.

Neeld was on the mound for Lower Moreland allowing just 4 hits, 1 walk, and 7 strikeouts.

Joce Davis was in the circle for Springfield allowing 6 hits, 6 walks, and 12 strikeouts.
