Friday afternoon Norristown swimmers held an excellent meet against Lansdale Catholic splitting the meet with an 83-66 win for the boys' team and a close and hard fought loss for the girls' team.


Highlights for the boys' team included a winning Medley relay performan by Thomas Brodoski, JJ Brenner, Eddie Sides and Greg Nordmeyer and a winning 200 meter Freestyle relay team featuring Thomas Brodoski, diver, Brian Gorman, Eddie Sides and Greg Nordmeyer. Norristown swimmers Sides and Nordmeyer placed first and second respectively in the 50 meter freestyle, while Nordmeyer won the 100 meter freestyle. Thomas Brodoski also placed second in the 100 and 200 meter freestyle events. Eddie Sides and Anthony Mitchell placed first and second in the 100 meter butterfly and JJ Brenner placed first in the 400 meter freestyle and second in the IM and 100 meterbreaststroke.


For the girls' team Nicole Martorella lead the charge with first place finishes in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter breaststroke where she once again beat her own pool record. Colleen Kolb placed third in the 200 meter IM and in the 100 meter butterfly, swimming a season's best time. Sophia Bieros also dropped time in both the 50 and 100 meter freestyle events. Despite an outstanding effort the girls' team lost by a score of 106-77.
