East fell in the State Quarterfinals today to Hempfield, the top ranked team in the state. Set scores were: 24-26; 20-25; 27-25; 20-25.

Carter Haban had a stellar match, amassing 23 kills, 8 digs and an ace. Dylan Colbert also had a huge match with 11 kills, 11 digs and an ace. In addition, Andrew Bennett added 6 kills and 7 digs, and Christian Wolf contributed 6 kills, 2 blocks, a dig and an assist. Jack Miller added 2 key blocks and a kill. Directing the East attack was Steve Storm, who dished 33 assists while adding 3 kills, 2 digs, a block and an ace. Once again, Jacob LaBoulliere spearheaded East’s defense, collecting 12 digs and adding 2 assists.

I’m incredibly proud of our team. They never quit on each other and battled hard in every match. It was a terrific season!
