Upper Dublin Comments
Upper Dublin hosted CB South in boys volleyball. For Upper Dublin this was their senior night for the team. Upper Dublin won the match in 5 sets (17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, and 15-12). The match went back and forth the entire way. After all the pregame festivities, CB South jumped out to an early lead in the first game and held that lead to a win for game one. We did gain some momentum at the end of the game and carried that over to game 2 in which we were able to win by a slim margin. In game 3 we were playing well and maintained the advantage for most of the game and ended up winning and having the 2-1 advantage. In the 4th game, it was a back and forth game with good serving and passing mistakes from both teams leading to runs in points. CB South was able to win the 4th game and send the match to a deciding game 5. The 5th game started out to our advantage after Dave An started the game with 3 straight points and giving us the early advantage in a short game to 15. CB South to their credit got the serve back and pressured us as well by taking the lead back. After a timeout, Upper Dublin responded well and was determined not to lose this game. After getting the serve back at 8-12, both of our outside hitters took the game over with serving and hitting. Dror Bareket went back to serve and served out the game with 7 straight points off of serve. Our blockers were getting up big and we were playing good defense behind them and transitioning those digs into points. At 14-12, and after another good dig, senior Jordan Walden ended the match with a strong spike that CB South was unable to dig.
