Council Rock South Comments
The Panthers fought off a tough Council Rock South team on Thursday night but fell 3 games to 1. Leading the way at the net for the Panthers were Nicole Long who had 7 kills and 12 digs. Shaina Gatton with 10 kills and 8 digs and Sara Ingham had 8 kills and 8 blocks. Stephanie Woolston led the back row with 20 digs and Kelly Scipione had 22 assists.
William Tennent Comments
Council Rock South defeated William Tennent 3-1 (25-13, 25-21, 22-25, 25-14)
The Golden Hawks were led by Senior Middle Hitter Hannah Sullivan who had 9 kills and 8 blocks, Junior Outside Hitter Celina Varian, with 5 kills and 30 digs and Senior Setter Hannah Devlin who dished out 19 assists.
But the night belonged to Junior Libero Bria DeSaro who recorded the 1000th dig of her high school career. Coach Wright had this to say: “Bria started her career at South as a Libero and moved to setting last year as a Sophomore. It didn’t take the coaching staff long to realize that she was far more valuable to the team as a Libero. So we asked her to move back to libero, and without hesitation, she agreed. We were, and still are, very middle-hitter dependent when it comes to our offense. That can’t happen without good passing. Bria has been a standout back there for three years. She makes our offense run.”
