The Souderton Area High School boys’ water polo team defeated PennRidge in the Souderton home opener 18 – 6 to improve their season record to 4 – 1.
Souderton used a combination of a patient, set offense and an effective counter attack to jump out to an early 8 – 3 lead in the first quarter. The Souderton boys maintained that lead throughout the game. Souderton used a balanced attack on offense. Aidan Ivory was the leading scorer with six goals. Ryan Christie added five goals, Blake Stancziewski three, and Nate Kleppinger two. Elijah Bleazard and John Henry Scherping added one each.
Souderton’s tight press and strong goalie play limited PennRidge to eight goals. Chase Welsch had nine saves and Josh Sprague added a tenth.
Souderton will host North Penn Tuesday, September 17.
