Eastern Finals...and NORTH PENN is in!!! Dreams do come true. Way back in January when winter workouts started, this group of young men from North Penn had a dream of getting to Hershey to play for a STATE TITLE. The reality is close, and with a win this Saturday vs. Bethlehem Liberty, these athletes will have a chance to etch themselves into football history.

MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!!!! Two left! North Penn vs. Neshaminy, Schmidt vs. Beck. May the best team win. This is the game that we've been waiting for since the season started. I have felt all along that if Neshaminy kept improving (they did!) they would end up meeting North Penn in the District final.

IT'S TIME TO GET SERIOUS!! With eight down and four big games in District One Quad A left this weekend, the excitement grows. The matchups are what we've been waiting for since teams went past the halfway mark of the season. Looking at the bottom part of the bracket...Wow! Would I like to see both of these games Friday night - Neshaminy vs. Ridley and Pennsbury vs. Garnet Valley. The top part of the bracket isn't too shabby either....NP vs. Abington and Downingtown West vs. Conestoga.

THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR....DISTRICT ONE PLAYOFFS. It's finally here...that time of the year that teams think about in winter workouts and extending into summer camp. Playoff Time!!! Drew Markol who does a nice job writing for the Intelligencer sports recently wrote a story on how league championships should be taken much more seriously and coveted throughout player’s lifetimes. I agree with Drew's point but it's not reality!!!

GHOST STORIES:  When you think of District One and talk about the top teams, invariably you hear about North Penn, Neshaminy, Ridley, Pennsbury or Garnet Valley. After I watched Abington play Council Rock North, if there are discussions about the top teams in District One this year, you must include the Abington Ghosts. Now at 7-1 and with a giant game looming this Friday, October 24, versus Pennsbury, Abington continues to impress both in the team and coaching aspects.
