BASEBALL
Susquehanna sophomore Bobby Wittemann (Central Bucks South) was named to the Landmark Conference 2015 Spring Academic Honor Roll. The honor roll recognizes all spring student-athletes who have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Matt Hollenbeck (Hatboro-Horsham) went six-plus innings in Georgetown’s 2-1 loss at Seton Hall on Thursday. The Hatboro-Horsham graduate allowed just one run on four hits while striking out one in six-plus innings. He needed only 72 pitches through the first six frames.
Craig Lepre (North Penn) was 2-for-4 in Albany’s 4-1 loss to Maine on Friday.
Senior shortstop Dan Hinchcliff (North Penn) was 2-for-4 and scored a run in Catholic University’s 15-3 loss to Johns Hopkins in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
Senior Kristopher Davis (Central Bucks East) represented Elizabethtown on the Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship team. The All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship. The student-athletes selected demonstrate fair play, graciousness in victory and respectfulness in defeat. They are ambassadors for the team, both on and off the field, and galvanize their teammates toward their goals. These student-athletes exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, spectators and the greater campus community. Davis recently was named the Landmark Pitcher of the Year.
Davis also was named to the Landmark Spring Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes spring student-athletes who have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Ryan Pater (Central Bucks East) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in St. Joseph’s 6-5 loss to Villanova in 10 innings on Tuesday afternoon. In Friday’s 13-10 loss to Saint Louis, Pater was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
West Chester shortstop Dylan Tice (Pennridge) was named to the 2015 Daktronics Inc., All-Atlantic Region squad. The Pennridge grad, a Tino Martinez Award semifinalist which is handed out to the Division II national player of the year, hit .450 in the regular season (58-for-129) with 15 doubles, five triples and nine home runs while striking out just twice in 163 plate appearances. Tice also scored 53 runs on the year. He boasted an .853 slugging percentage and a .564 on-base percentage offensively and only made 12 errors in the field (.930 fielding percentage). He also was named first team All-PSAC East as well as being tabbed the loop’s player of the year.
Tice hit a three-run homer, his 11th of the season, in the bottom of the seventh inning to knot the score in West Chester’s 6-4 loss to Mercyhurst in 11 innings Saturday that eliminated the Golden Rams from the NCAA Atlantic Regional. Tice finished the game 3-for-6 with three RBIs. In Friday’s 9-4 loss to No. 21 Winston-Salem State, Tice homered. He finished the game 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored. In Thursday’s 5-0 win over No. 9 Millersville in an NCAA opening round game, both Tice and Robert Knox (Upper Moreland) had a hit and RBI.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Louisville junior Cortnee Daley (Hatboro-Horsham) was named the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association All-West Region second team. The junior co-captain led the team in turnovers caused and ranked 10th in that category in the ACC. She ranked second on the team in goals with 47. Daley posted seven hat tricks on the season. She finished the year ranked in the top 15 of the ACC in caused turnovers, goals, goals per game and points.
Lock Haven senior Kelly Hamilton (Central Bucks South) was named to the 2015 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) NCAA Division II All-American second team. The CB South grad was the backbone of the offense, contributing 46 goals, 13 assists, 22 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. The veteran midfielder has 35 draw controls on the year.
Hamilton had a goal and an assist in No. 1 Lock Haven’s 5-4 loss to No. 2 Adelphi in the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship game on Sunday. Melinda Wojt (Souderton) helped lead another standout defensive effort. In Saturday’s 11-6 win over #3 Lindenwood in a semifinal contest, Hamilton had a pair of assists.
SOFTBALL
Saint Joseph’s senior Ashley Alden (William Tennent) earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region second team honors. The senior first baseman was stellar over 26 games en route to matching the program’s single-season mark for home runs (10). Batting a team-best .390, she led the team in runs batted in (36) and slugging percentage (.854) while scoring 27 runs. Alden was equally impressive in Atlantic 10 play, hitting .583 with a 1.583 slugging percentage and four home runs. The Hawks’ top designated player, Alden made an immediate impact for Saint Joseph’s. In her first collegiate season, the 6-foot rookie hit .342 with 21 runs scored and finished second on the team in runs batted in (31) and doubles (11).

Marywood University sophomore Brooke Labs (Pennridge) received All-Region second team honors in NCAA Division III by the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association (NFCA). Labs led the Pacers in the regular season with a .443 batting average and ranks first in doubles per game. The sophomore third baseman has 20 doubles, setting a new Marywood single-season mark. Labs started and played in all 33 regular season games and ranked first on the team in runs scored (31), hits (47), doubles (20), and triples (2). In the field at third base, Labs had 40 putouts, 74 assists and just 11 errors at the hot corner for a .912 fielding percentage.
Chestnut Hill freshman shortstop Koraima Dudley (Neshaminy) was second on the team with 11 runs scored and stole a team high four bases (4-of-5, .800) this season.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Elizabethtown sophomore Laura Travis (Upper Moreland) was named to the Landmark Conference 2015 Spring Academic Honor Roll. The honor roll recognizes all spring student-athletes who have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.

St. Joseph’s senior Matthew McGarvey (Central Bucks West) ran the first sub-1:50.00 800m race of his career to claim the title in a field of 86 in an IC4A-qualifying 1:49.75 at the 2015 Swarthmore Final Qualifier on Monday evening.

Johns Hopkins senior Michael Spadaro (Council Rock South) was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team after winning the decathlon at the conference championships. The CR South graduate won eight of 10 events in the decathlon. He also earned all-conference honors for his performance in long jump.
Ben Keliojor (Norristown) was part of Gwynedd Mercy’s 4x100m relay team that finished second in their heat and 10th overall, just missing top eight medals by 0.08 seconds at the 2015 ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday. This was the fastest 4x100m relay of the year. Byron Coleman (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished 27th overall in long jump with a jump of 6.52m (21’4.75”). It was Coleman’s second best jump of the outdoor season.
Widener sophomore Alex Cucciarre (Souderton) finished in 11th place in the javelin throw with a toss of 52.75 meters (173’1”) at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Thursday. Jason Caporale (Neshaminy) finished the 3000m steeplechase in sixth place with a time of 9:39.46.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Penn State junior Tori Gerlach (Pennridge) finished second in the 3,000m steeplechase on day two of the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. After finishing sixth last year, Gerlach crossed the finish line in 10 minutes, 13.33 seconds.

Gwynedd Mercy junior Zakiyyah Richardson (Pennsbury) finished second in her heat with a time of 12.31 but just missed the top eight runners to qualify for finals by only 0.02 seconds at the 2015 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday. It was her fourth fastest time of the season.
Ursinus sophomore Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) was named to the All-Centennial first team after her outstanding performance in the 200m race.
University of Pittsburgh junior Morgan Perry (Pennsbury) recorded a personal record in the 1500m, posting a time of 4:30.62 to finish 30th at the 2015 ACC Outdoor Championship Meet in Tallahassee, Fla., Thursday.
Widener freshman Allison Gallagher (Souderton) finished the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.38, crossing the finish line in 28th place at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Friday. Amber Char (William Tennent) recorded a 26th place finish in the pole vault with a height of 3.12 meters (10’2.75”).
West Chester senior Danielle Kuhn (Central Bucks East) was named to the Atlantic All-Region squad after finishing third in the heptathlon. She collected 4,541 points in the multi-event and was a provisional qualifying score. However, it was not enough to get her into the NCAA Championships. The total lands her fourth all-time on the school’s top 10 list.
Bloomsburg University senior Kate Dodds (Upper Dublin) will represent the Huskies at the 2015 NCAA Division II Women’s Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, earning entry in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. The national championships will be held in Allendale, Michigan, on the campus of Grand Valley State University May 21-23. Dodds is seeded 20th in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:53.93 and is the lone representative of the PSAC in the event. In the 10,000 meters, Dodds posted the 17th fastest time in the nation this season at 35:28.34, also the best mark in the PSAC this year.
Dodds was named to the All-Atlantic Region squad by the United State Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2015 season. She was selected for the 5k and 10k events. At the most recent PSAC Championship, she captured the 5k title, winning by more than eight seconds with a time of 17:35.09. Dodds also won the PSAC Indoor titles in the 3k and 5k events February and was named the Most Outstanding Athlete at the PSAC Indoor Championships.
