BASEBALL
West Chester senior shortstop Dylan Tice (Pennridge) was named honorable mention All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA). For Tice, it is just another award in a long list of postseason honors. The Pennridge graduate is tied for 13th in the nation in hitting with a .433 batting average. He hammered out 65 hits, including 16 doubles, five triples and 11 home runs, while knocking in 34 runs and scoring 59 times. He authored an .827 slugging percentage and a .548 on-base percentage as well. He only struck out seven times on the season, which ranks him tied for 11th in Division II. Tice, a semifinalist for the Tino Martinez Award handed out to the Division II national player of the year, was also named All-Atlantic Region by both the American Baseball Coaches’ Association (ABCA) and the NCBWA while also earning first team All-PSAC honors along with PSAC East athlete of the year. He helped lead West Chester (27-15) to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012. His .433 batting average is the highest single season mark since 1996 and the fourth-best in school history. His .827 slugging percentage is .001 off the school record held by Tom Nuneviller in 1990. His .548 on-base percentage is also the best single season effort since 1996 and the third best mark in school history. Tice’s 11 home runs are tied for seventh best in a single season and just two shy of the school’s record.
Arcardia senior Matthew Smith (Souderton) has been named to the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Spring Academic Honor Roll. In order to be placed on the academic honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore status or higher who participated in a varsity level sport and registered a cumulative GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.
Delaware Valley sophomore Bobby Altieri (Norristown) was named to the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. In order to be placed on the academic honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore status or higher who participated in a varsity level sport and registered a cumulative GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.
FIELD HOCKEY
Messiah College senior Becky Ely (Council Rock North) was named the female Senior Scholar-Athlete Award winner for 2014-15. It is the most prestigious student-athlete award given by Messiah. Ely finished her career with the Falcons with a 3.80 cumulative grade point average and a degree in mathematics with a teaching certificate. A two-sport student-athlete, Ely’s most prolific accomplishments came in the fall field hockey season. In 2014, she was named NFHCA First Team All-Region and First Team All-Commonwealth, and she also took home the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the sport. In addition to a Commonwealth Rookie of the Year award in 2011, Ely also was named to the conference first team in 2012 and 2013. Ely was a stalwart defender for the Falcons in each of her four seasons, and in 2014, she led Messiah to a miniscule 1.45 goals against average. Ely has been a member of the MAC Honor Roll in each of her years with Messiah, and for each of the past two seasons, she’s earned Academic All-MAC honors as a field hockey player. Senior lacrosse player Madi Brunk (Cheltenham) was a finalist for the Senior Scholar-Athlete award.

Arcadia senior Colin Pippert (North Penn) has been named to the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Spring Academic Honor Roll. In order to be placed on the academic honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore status or higher who participated in a varsity level sport and registered a cumulative GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Lock Haven senior Kelly Hamilton (Central Bucks South) was selected to compete in the 2015 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) Division II North-South Senior All-Star game. The all-star game will be held Saturday, June 6, 12:45 p.m., at Cabrini College.
Arcardia junior Jordyn Dunacusky (Plymouth Whitemarsh) has been named to the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Spring Academic Honor Roll. In order to be placed on the academic honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore status or higher who participated in a varsity level sport and registered a cumulative GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.
California junior Michele DeVincent (Upper Dublin) was named to the 2015 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic team. In order to receive this recognition, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and must have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution’s competition in his/her respective sport and have a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average.
Messiah College senior Madi Brunk (Cheltenham) was named to the 2015 Spring Academic Honor Roll. In order to be placed on the academic honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore status or higher who participated in a varsity level sport and registered a cumulative GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher. An engineering major, Brunk boasts a 3.82 GPA. She earned second team All-Commonwealth and was Commonwealth Championship MVP. She was second on the Falcons with 56 points and first in assists with 35. Her 35 assists were second in the Commonwealth, and she now ranks fifth in all-time assists for Messiah (78).
