MEN’S BASKETBALL
Redshirt freshman Anthony Lee (Abington) contributed 19 points, four rebounds and two steals, and Josh Johnson (Norristown) had 14 points and 11 rebounds in Kutztown’s 87-69 win over Millersville on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 84-75 win over 17th-ranked West Chester, Lee scored 23 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the floor and an 8-for-8 effort at the free throw line. He grabbed seven rebounds and added three assists. Johnson and junior Ryan Connolly (Souderton) added 14 points each. Johnson had a game high nine rebounds and made all three free throws while Connolly knocked down a pair of three-pointers for the third time in the last four games.
Sophomore Aaron Burton (Cheltenham) collected his first double-double with 17 points and a career high 15 rebounds in DeSales University’s 81-75 win over Eastern University on Wednesday.
Wes Brooks (North Penn) and Josh McWilliams (Council Rock North) scored 14 points each to lead McDaniel to a 56-54 win over Muhlenberg on Saturday. In McDaniel’s 67-65 win over Gettysburg, Brooks scored the game-winning shot with 1.4 seconds remaining. He finished with 14 points. McWilliams added 10 points. In Monday’s 68-46 loss to Franklin & Marshall, McWilliams scored a career best 11 points.
Freshman guard Jimmy Murray (Plymouth Whitemarsh) returned to the lineup after two games with an injury and scored 11 points in Moravian’s 96-59 loss to The Catholic University of America on Saturday.
Senior Luke Moyer (Souderton) scored 17 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and a 6-of-6 mark from the foul line in John Brown University’s 76-67 loss to Oklahoma City on Saturday. In Thursday’s 80-64 win over St. Gregory’s (Okla.), Moyer scored 17 points.
Washington College senior Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) was named the Shoreman of the Week for the week ending Jan. 24. Knox averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds in two games during the week. He had eight points and a team best nine rebounds in a 70-59 loss to Montclair. In a 66-54 loss to McDaniel, he scored 16 points and grabbed 11 boards.
Knox had a team best nine rebounds in Washington College’s 79-61 loss to Gettysburg on Saturday. In Monday’s 66-61 loss to Haverford, Knox had a team high 15 rebounds to tie a career high.
Senior guard Mark Wonderling (Souderton) contributed six points and six rebounds in Ursinus College’s 57-43 win over Muhlenberg on Wednesday.
Julian Hyden (Bensalem) and Arron Goodman (Council Rock North) each netted 23 points while Aaron Morgan (Council Rock North) added 12 in Gwynedd Mercy’s 93-79 win over Keystone on Saturday. The win was the eighth straight for the Griffins. In Wednesday’s 101-88 win over Cabrini, Hyden and Goodman each scored 18 points while Morgan had 12.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Keifonna Ferguson (Norristown) scored a career high 20 points and added a career high tying nine rebounds and two blocks in Kutztown’s 92-55 loss to West Chester on Wednesday.
Senior Alex Wheatley (Council Rock South) scored 12 of her 14 points in the third quarter – 10 of them consecutively – in Princeton’s 65-50 win over Yale on Saturday. She finished 7-for-9 from the field while also adding nine rebounds in 28 minutes. Wheatley is 27 points away from becoming the 24th 1,000-point scorer in program history. In Friday’s 72-53 win over Brown, Wheatley had six points.
Senior Ciara ‘CC’ Andrews (Cheltenham) scored 12 points in St. Joseph’s 64-55 win over La Salle on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 65-51 loss at St. Bonaventure, Andrews tallied a team best 11 points and added five assists and four steals.
Junior Lauren Crisler (North Penn), who was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, contributed 14 points and nine rebounds in American University’s 64-56 win over Colgate on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 59-54 loss to Holy Cross, sophomore Michael Harris (Abington) scored a career high 12 points while Crisler added 10 points.
Freshman Regie Robinson (Upper Merion) scored a team and game high 20 points in Eastern University’s 71-52 loss to DeSales University on Wednesday night.
Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) scored 10 points in Cairn University’s 80-33 loss to Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 60-55 win over Summit University, Eppolito scored five points in the final 4:13 of the fourth quarter. In Monday’s 60-55 win at Bryn Mawr College, Eppolito scored 21 points.
Sophomore Vicky Tumasz (North Penn) contributed eight points off the bench – which included a pair of three-pointers – in Shippensburg’s 71-57 loss at West Chester on Saturday.
Alysha Lofton (Central Bucks South) grabbed 11 boards in Albright’s 58-49 win over Widener on Wednesday.

Evan Sherkness (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was part of the first place 400 free relay that posted a time of 3:06.82 in West Chester’s 178-125 win over NYU on Saturday.
Bloomsburg junior Pat Stasio (Hatboro-Horsham) finished third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.85 at the John A. Pidgeon Invitational hosted by IUP. Junior Bobby Lenahan (Hatboro-Horsham) finished fourth in the 200 IM (1:58.50).
Sophomore Jacob Schellinger (North Penn) finished third in the 50 (22.82) and 100 freestyle (51.68) events. He also finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.74 seconds.
Andrew Richey (William Tennent) finished fourth in the 50 free (21.93) in IUP’s split with Bloomsburg and Gannon after the first session of the 2016 Pidgeon Memorial Invitational on Friday night.
Junior Dylan Cooper (William Tennent) was part of the second place 400 medley relay that posted a time of 3:38.00 in Ursinus College’s 150-112 loss to Washington College on Saturday. Freshman Maxwell Coulter (Pennridge) finished fourth in the 100 backstroke, and freshman Travis Venables (Pennsbury) placed third in the 50 freestyle.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Kutztown sophomore Bridget Perdock (Pennsbury) finished third in both the 100 breaststroke (1:12.34) and 200 breaststroke (2:39.85) at KU’s home tri-meet against LIU Post and Millersville. Caitlyn Falguera (Hatboro-Horsham) was seventh in the 200 backstroke (2:26.17) and eighth in the 100 backstroke (1:08.95).
Elizabeth Miller (Neshaminy) finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:01.98) and placed third in the 100 butterfly (1:07.93) in West Chester’s 185-101 loss to Penn on Friday. In Saturday’s 204-82 loss to NYU, Miller was second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:13.98.
Rachel Saunders (Central Bucks West) placed third in the one-meter dive event with a score of 273.50 in Pitt’s sweep of Carnegie Mellon and Clarion on Friday.
Jan Ikeda (North Penn) earned a win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.37 in Lebanon Valley’s quad meet at Messiah College on Saturday. The senior captain added a third place finish in the 200 fly. Lebanon Valley defeated Hood 126-113 and fell to Messiah (199-51).
Senior Carolyn Meier (Upper Dublin) paced Shippensburg in her signature events at the 2016 Navy Invitational on Saturday, the 50 free (25.74), 100 free (55.19) and 200 freestyle (2:01.22).
Freshman Lauren Griffith (Central Bucks East) won the 100 backstroke (1:05.04) and 100 butterfly (1:03.48) in Widener’s 177-83 win over Arcadia on Monday.
Junior Jess Wimmer (Souderton) earned a win in the 400 IM (5:25.85) in Lycoming’s 133-55 win over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.
Sophomore Megan Berardelli (Wissahickon) was the winner in both the one-meter (258.75) and three-meter (270.90) events in Marist’s 181-112 win over Binghamton on Saturday. The win was the ninth consecutive dual meet win. In Wednesday’s 172-123 win over Seton Hall, Berardelli finished first in the one-meter (235.65) and the three-meter (279.33) events.
Megan Obarowski (Council Rock South) placed third in the 200 butterfly (2:27.35) and the 200 IM (2:26.06) in Arcadia’s 177-83 loss to Widener on Monday.
Natalee Szopo (Upper Moreland) was the runner-up in the three-meter event in Towson’s 165-135 victory over Delaware on Saturday.
Eve Kosten (North Penn) finished second in the 50 freestyle in the University of Buffalo’s 177-123 win over Toledo on Saturday.
Junior Emily Houser (Upper Dublin) was part of the first place medley relay, the second place free relay and finished third in the backstroke with a time of 2:15.08 in Dickinson’s 125-80 loss at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.
Taylor Mateja (Upper Merion) claimed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.61 in Franklin & Marshall’s 55-31 win over McDaniel on Friday.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Kutztown senior Chris Varichione (Quakertown) finished fourth in the weight throw (52-04.50) and sixth in the shot put (47-06.50) at Bucknell’s Bison Open on Saturday. Both are PSAC qualifying marks, and his shot put throw was a career best. Khalid Weems (Upper Dublin) posted a career best and PSAC qualifying time of 52.37 to finish eighth in the 400m. Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) and Ron Smith (Neshaminy) were part of KU’s 4×400 relay that finished second overall in 3:26.13. On Friday, Smith finished 17th in the 60m hurdles with a PSAC qualifying time of 23.05.
La Salle sophomore Joseph Leconey (North Penn) placed third in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:37.93 at the Lehigh Covert Classic on Saturday.
Pitt junior Chris Spadaro (Council Rock South) set a personal record in the long jump with a distance of 7.28m (23-10.75 feet) to place seventh overall at the Penn State National on Friday.
Bloomsburg junior James Wilson (Central Bucks South) posted a PR of 4:30.74 in the mile at Bucknell University’s Bison Open on Saturday. Tim Silverthorn (Council Rock South) posted a time of 2:08.90 in the 800m run.
East Stroudsburg junior Sean Hagerty (Pennridge) improved his mark in the long jump (22-5 ¾), finishing second at the Covert Invitational at Lehigh on Saturday. He finished fifth in the 60m with a time of 7.31. Montel Johnson-Troupe (Pennsbury) finished fifth in the 200m dash.
Austin Cooper (Upper Merion) was one of three IUP runners to hit a PSAC qualifying time in the mile, finishing with a time of 4:19.05 on the second day of the Penn State National Track & Field meet on Saturday.
Jeff Wiseman (Council Rock South) was part of the University of Pennsylvania’s winning 4×400 relay that posted a time of 3:20.61 at Navy’s Wesley Brown Invitational on Saturday in Annapolis. He finished second in the 400m and picked up the ninth fastest time in program history (48.57).
Senior Matthew Merritt (Upper Dublin) finished fifth in the pentathlon with 4,044 points at the Bison Open at Bucknell University on Saturday. Merritt is fifth on the PSAC performance list.
Shippensburg senior Jalen Ramsey (Norristown) cleared 6’5”, a PSAC qualifying time, at Penn State University’s National Invitational on Friday.
Widener’s Alex Cucciarre (Souderton) finished third in the shot put with a distance of 13.22 meters (43’-4.75”) at the Widener Field Meet on Friday.
Lock Haven junior Henry Colby (William Tennent) posted a PSAC qualifying time in the 5K, finishing seventh with a time of 15:18.24 on day one of the Bucknell Bison Open on Friday.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Kutztown freshman Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) finished 16th in the 800m run on the final day of Bucknell’s Bison Open on Saturday, posting a season best time of 2:27.54. On Friday, Bresadola was part of KU’s distance medley relay that finished fourth in 12:52.55. Anecia Alexaki (Upper Merion) took home fourth in the pole vault at 10-10, an existing PSAC mark. Olivia Dettore (Central Bucks West) turned in a career best time in the 500m of 19:09.06, finishing 16th.
Dara Lindsey (Central Bucks East) and Emily Dusellier (Souderton) were part of West Chester’s first place 400m relay at the 18th annual Bison Open at Bucknell University on Saturday. Lindsey was fourth in the 400m dash, and Dusellier grabbed fifth in the 800 meter. Christine Johnson (North Penn) finished second in the weight throw with a distance of 14.82.
Bloomsburg junior Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) qualified for the PSAC Championships and ran a personal best time of 18:35.55 in the 5000 meters at the Bison Open at Bucknell University on Friday night.

Jamila Branch (Central Bucks West) and Melanie Vlasic (North Penn) were part of Pitt’s distance medley relay team that set a school record en route to a first place finish on the opening day at the Penn State National on Friday, combining to run a time of 11:31.99. The time was nine seconds faster than the previous record set in 1997. Branch ran the 400 meter dash while Vlasic ran the 1600m.
Kelly Anne Stuetz (Cheltenham) was part of East Stroudsburg’s first place 4x400m relay that posted a time of 4:08.31 at the Covert Invitational at Lehigh on Saturday.
Messiah junior Natalie Ross (Souderton) broke her personal best in the 3000m run with a time of 11:05.60 at the Bison Open on Saturday at Bucknell University.
Ursinus junior Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) posted a time of 27.19, the third best time in the Centennial Conference and good enough for ninth place at the Patriot Games Invitational hosted by George Mason University on Saturday.
Shippensburg freshman Allison King (North Penn) finished fifth and posted a PSAC qualifying time of 8.04 in the 60m dash at the Bison Open at Bucknell University on Saturday. She finished seventh in the 200m dash with a PSAC qualifying time of 26.60.
Moravian sophomore Beth Ann Davies (Quakertown) was eighth in the pole vault at 3.20 meters (10-6) at the non-scoring 24th Annual John Covert Classic at Lehigh University on Saturday.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Junior Michael Fehrs (Central Bucks West) recorded nine kills in Stevenson’s 3-0 win over No. 10 Elmira College on Saturday.
Christian Lizana (Pennridge) posted seven kills, four digs and three aces in Vassar College’s 3-1 loss to top-ranked Springfield College on Saturday. In Vassar’s 3-2 win over Ramapo, Lizana had 10 kills on just 19 attacks.
WRESTLING
Kutztown redshirt senior Matt Martoccio (Council Rock South) went 4-0 on the day at the Super Region 2 Duals at Coker College on Saturday, improving to 19-3 on the season at 157 pounds. In Kutztown’s 42-4 win over Emmauel, Martoccio won by forfeit. In KU’s 28-12 win over Pembroke, he earned a 13-4 major decision. He notched a 3-2 decision in KU’s 25-15 win over Belmont Abbey and completed the day with a 5-3 decision in KU’s 27-19 loss to Coker.
Elizabethtown sophomore Philip Torresani (Hatboro-Horsham) placed eighth at 125 at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational on Saturday.
