PENNSBURY 2, ABINGTON 1 (OT)
It wasn’t easy, but the visiting Falcons edged the Ghosts in overtime to pick up their school record 12th straight win to open the season.
“Our composure throughout the season, throughout the matches has been fantastic,” coach Tom Stoddart said. “I think the kids are definitely really feeling it, and also – which to me is extremely important, they’re just having a good time.
“They’re enjoying the moment, they’re staying in the moment, and they’re just having a good time. They’re playing with a smile on their face.”
Zach LoBasso spotted the Falcons a 1-0 lead midway through the first half, using a Randy Dickersbach assist. A clutch goal by Sean Touey (David Miazio assist) on a restart piece knotted the score in the closing minutes of regulation.
“We had chances, in particular, Bryan Nagy hit the same post twice within a five-minute span,” Stoddart said. “It was just unlucky – we would have put the game away there.”
Seven minutes into OT, Onouha connected for the game winner, using a LoBasso assist.
“Zach was fantastic, and I thought Obi was fantastic the whole day,” Stoddart said. “It was a well-deserved game winner for him.”
Pennsbury (12-0, 7-0 SOL) and Abington (8-3, 5-3) will square off again on Wednesday night at Abington (7 p.m.).
“We have to play Abington again on Wednesday night,” Stoddart said. “It’s going to be really difficult, but it’s also real exciting.”

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 4, OWEN J ROBERTS 1
The visiting Indians dominated the first half, opening up a 3-0 lead over a Wildcat squad that is behind only Spring-Ford in the PAC-10 large school division. Nick Guarna opened the scoring with an unassisted goal on a 25-yard free kick. Sean Finneyfrock scored on a restart throw-in from Noah Ehlin, and Nikita Illin found the net before halftime on a nifty through ball from Ehlin, who picked up his second assist of the match.
The Wildcats broke up the Indians’ shutout bit when Nolan Smith scored on a rocket. Dennis Karpovitch sealed the deal when he found the net with three minutes to play, using an assist from Nick Guarna.
North outshot OJR 13-5.
Council Rock North (8-1-1, 7-3-3 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Wednesday.

GREAT VALLEY 1, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (2 OT)
The visiting Patriots converted a penalty kick midway through the second overtime to eke out a 1-0 non-league win over the Bucks.
West goalkeeper Dylan Smith recorded three saves.
Central Bucks West (5-4-2, 3-2-2 SOL) will host North Penn on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

PENNRIDGE 2, SOUDERTON 2 (2 OT)
The Indians opened up a 2-0 halftime lead, but the Rams came roaring back to score a pair of goals in the second half. Two overtimes could not determine a winner.
Meredith Moore (Taylor Moritz assist) put the Indians on the board with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, and the Indians second goal – scored with 5:45 remaining in the half – was set up by Sara Cassel’s free kick that was retrieved by Aleah Kramer. Kramer’s shot was picked off by Ali Trick, who scored to put the Indians on top 2-0.
The Rams came to life in the second half, and midway through the half Erin Stevenson buried a penalty kick to cut the Indians’ lead in half. Shortly thereafter, Stevenson scored off a header into the top left corner, knotting the score.
Souderton goalie Vivan Feliciani turned in a standout performance, delivering some huge saves for the Indians. In the closing seconds, Feliciani tipped a Pennridge rocket over the net to preserve the tie.
Souderton (4-3-2, 4-2-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks East on Wednesday at 6:30, and Pennridge (9-1-1, 5-1-1) will host Central Bucks South on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

The Ghosts hung tough, but the Falcons converted a pair of penalty kicks, a breakaway and a well-executed team play goal in the final 10 minutes to earn their ninth win without a loss.
Meredith Webber buried a penalty kick in the 69th minute, and the floodgates opened. Three minutes later Christine Cataldo-Smith found the net, using a Rachel Beri assist. In the 73rd minute, Webber converted her second penalty kick, and Cara Thomas capped an explosive eight-minute span when she scored in the 77th minute, using a Riley Thomas assist.
Pennsbury (9-0, 7-0 SOL) and Abington (3-8, 2-5) will meet again on Wednesday at Pennsbury.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2, GWYNEDD MERCY 1
The Bucks and Monarchs battled to a scoreless halftime tie, but Mary Kate Vinkler scored a pair of late goals to win it. Vinkler converted a penalty kick in the 63rd minute and found the net with the game winner in the 74th minute, using a Kieran Shifter assist.
Central Bucks West (5-8) will host North Penn on Wednesday.
NESHAMINY 4, ARCHBISHOP WOOD 0
Brooke Mullin finished off a cross from Brianna Tobin in the 31st minute to break a scoreless tie and send the Redskins into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Any doubts about the outcome were quickly put to rest when the Redskins reeled off three straight goals during an explosive four-minute span early in the second half. Jackie Ziegler volleyed in a ball from Maggie Daeche in the 44th minute, and just over a minute later, the Redskins used a combination through the midfield to Brianna Tobin, who crossed it to Jackie Ziegler for her second goal of the day. Alyssa Tobin played a through ball to Mullin, who found the net in the 48th minute to give the Redskins their final margin of victory.
Neshaminy held a decisive 12-2 advantage in shots on goal. Goalkeepers Victoria Smith and Riley Spingler combined for two saves in the shutout win.
Neshaminy (8-1-1, 4-1-1 SOL) will host Bensalem on Wednesday.
