Boys
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 9, UPPER DARBY 3
The Spartans rebounded from a loss to Souderton less than 24 hours earlier to earn the non-league win. They led by just a 3-2 score at halftime but blew the game open in the second half, outscoring Upper Darby 6-1.
Justin Smith turned in a standout effort on attack, leading the Spartans with four goals. William Kaufmann, Zach Coppol, Wilson Krewson and Dillon Donnelly each added one goal.
Springfield (4-1, 0-1 SOL) will travel to Archbishop Ryan on Tuesday for a non-league game.
WEST CHESTER EAST 19, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 12
Justin Abbonizio led CB South with four goals and one assist. Dante Poli and Mike Dutkiewicz both added three goals, while Ian Vogt and Colin Abbonizio each chipped in one. Vogt also tallied four assists, Poli and Austin Novick each had two and Dan Mignogna finished with one.
South totaled 27 ground balls, led by Poli with four, Evan Quinn with three, Dutkiewicz, Chris Surina, Andrew Fratangeli and Matt Stoll all with two, and Vogt, Mignogna. Joe Gannon, Bobby Sautner, Alex Johnson, Angus Ballentine, DJ LoVerdi, Dylan McCrory, Ryan Sphar, Joe DeLaurentis, Tyler Horvath and Colin Abbonizio each scooping up one apiece.
In goal, Brad Ross had seven saves while Sautner had one. Matt Stoll won seven face offs, followed by Fratangeli and Gannon with two each and Horvath winning one. Surina, Poli, Dutkiewicz, Novick and LoVerdi were all credited with one forced turnover each.
Central Bucks South (3-2, 1-0 SOL) will travel to Spring-Ford for a non-league game on Wednesday.
AVON GROVE 8, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3
Central Bucks East hosted Avon Grove Saturday afternoon in its first home game of the season. Avon Grove scored first and held the lead from start to finish, and went on to spoil the Patriot's home open by a score of 8-3.
East could muster only three goals on the afternoon, Ryan Brown had two and Alec Bracken had one. Brant Billingsly and Ryan Bullota each chipped in with one assist apiece. Jake Kueny had four ground balls, Bryan McIntosh had two, while Liam Rosenthal, Colin Stein, and Michael Ott were each credited with one ground ball each.
Defensively, Liam Rosenthal had nine saves in goal, Kueny caused one turnover.
With the loss, East dropped to 3-2. The Patriot's travel to Council Rock North Monday afternoon to make up the game that was postponed last Thursday due to heavy rain.

MARPLE-NEWTOWN 19, PENNSBURY 11
Ben Abraham scored six goals in a stellar offensive performance. Nick Sutton had two goals and two assists while Will Anderson, Ryan Michael and Gavin Fleming each added a single goal. Cole Ruoff had two assists.
Tim Davis recorded 10 saves for the Falcons in goal.
Girls
PENNSBURY 12, SOUTHERN LEHIGH 6
Lily Nolan and Annie Price proved to be double trouble for Southern Lehigh on Saturday, combining for nine goals and leading the Falcons to their first win of the young season. Nolan scored five goals while Price added four goals and two assists.
The Falcons led by just a 6-4 score at halftime but outscored their hosts 6-2 in the second half.
“Today’s win was a complete team effort,” coach Shannon MacPherson said. “After having a tough start to the season, the girls fought hard for the entire game today and came out on top.
“Lily Nolan and Annie Price had great shots on goal while Sydney Plunkett was a leader on defense, pressuring ball and causing turnovers to give us the opportunity to move down the field and score. The girls’ hard work and dedication showed in today’s game, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings.”
In addition to Nolan and Price, the Falcons received single goals from Brooke Weaver, Sarah Mac Davis and Amelia Sharp. Weaver and Davis both had an assist.
Pennsbury (1-4, 0-2 SOL) will be on the road at Upper Moreland on Wednesday.

SOUDERTON 22, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 1
Riley McGowan turned in a dazzling seven-goal effort, and teammate Carlie Doughty added four goals and one assist as well as three draw controls to lead the Indians to a non-league rout of the Crusaders. Maddie Knight had two goals and three assists, and Kaitlyn Mardi had two goals and one assist. Megan Walbrandt added one goal and assisted on four others. The sophomore midfielder also had five draw controls. Sarah Goodwin had a goal and an assist and also had five draw controls.
Allie Trick, Jenny Ubowski and Anna Anello each had one goal and one assist. Randi Hess and Liz O’Hara both had one goal and two draw controls. Defensively, Juliana Borisow had three ground balls, one caused turnover and one draw control, and Katie Wittig had four ground balls and one caused turnover.
Goalie Lauren Scott turned away five shots in a winning effort.
Souderton (4-2, 1-1 SOL) will host Penncrest on Wednesday in a non-league contest.
MARPLE NEWTOWN 10, CHELTENHAM 5
Morgan Sloan has been impressive in goal for the Lady Panthers in the season’s early weeks. In Saturday’s loss, Sloan turned away 24 of 34 shots she faced in yet another glittering performance.
Liza Becker scored a pair of goals and also had four draw controls. Dana Shelton had one goal and five ground balls. Brianna Young and Carissa Dorley both had one goal and four ground balls.
Cheltenham (2-4, 0-2 SOL) is off until Tuesday, April 18, when the Lady Panthers will host Neshaminy.
HARRITON 16, WISSAHICKON 6
The Trojans found themselves staring at a 13-1 halftime deficit but outscored the Rams 5-3 in the second half.
“It was another strong second half, but it wasn’t enough to beat a quick Harriton team,” coach Patty Kovacs said. “The defense worked extremely hard today, communicating and double teaming. The middies battled back and forth to contribute at both ends of the field.”
Carolyn Wilde and Emily Vervlied both scored two goals. Emily Purnell and Sam Intrieri both added one each. Lauren Donofrio contributed an assist. Kyra Myers had nine saves in goal.
Wissahickon (2-4, 1-0 SOL) will be on the road at Quakertown on Monday.
