MEN’S BASKETBALL
Freshman Damian Washington (Upper Moreland) had 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists in Delaware Valley University’s 72-58 road loss to Hood College on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 78-73 win over Penn State Berks, Washington finished with a team-high 23 points to go along with seven boards and one steal. Joe Russell (Hatboro-Horsham) had eight points and six rebounds. In an 81-75 setback to Wilson College in the consolation game of the Messiah College tip-off tournament, Washington had 20 points and three boards. In an opening round 68-57 loss to Eastern Mennonite University, Washington had 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
Sophomore Riley Thompson (Council Rock North) scored 24 first-half points and finished the evening with a game-high and career-high 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor and 7-of-14 from 3-point range in Ithaca College’s 100-72 victory over visiting SUNY Canton last Friday. In Ithaca’s 70-66 loss at SUNY Cortland, Thompson finished with 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-9 from distance.
Josh McWilliams (Council Rock North) had a team-high six rebounds in a 72-46 loss to Johns Hopkins on Tuesday, In McDaniel’s 66-62 win over Penn State-Brandywine, McWilliams had nine points and nine rebounds.
Sophomore Will Derr (Upper Dublin) had a team-high eight rebounds in Arcadia’s 75-66 loss to Whitworth in its final game in the Hoops in Hawaii Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday.
Senior Steven Ciotti (Pennsbury) scored eight points in DeSales University’s 73-67 win over Moravian on Tuesday. In DeSales’ 69-53 win over Penn State-Wilkes Barre, Ciotti had eight points. In the Bulldogs’ 66-64 loss at the Dutch Birch Tip-off Tournament, sophomore Tracy Simsick (Souderton) had 12 points. In DeSales University’s 78-70 road win at Rosemont, freshman Mike Bealer (Souderton) gave the Bulldogs a big lift during the game-clinching spurt with the first two 3’s of his career.
Junior guard Jimmy Murray (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had 17 points, two rebounds and two assists in Moravian College’s 96-89 overtime victory over Bridgewater (Va.) College in the championship game of the 2017 Gettysburg College Tip-Off Tournament last Saturday. In Moravian’s 88-50 opening round win over Hunter (N.Y.) College, Murray contributed seven points, five rebounds and two assists. In Moravian’s 95-74 win over Muhlenberg College, Murray tossed in a game-high 21 points to go with three rebounds and three assists.
Junior Mekhi Bryant (Pennsbury) had a team-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from deep range, in Holy Family’s 86-67 loss at Bloomsburg on Tuesday. In Holy Family’s 82-65 loss to Shepherd University, junior Jerrel Burke (Pennsbury) had 19 points, which included four 3-pointers, and three steals. Bryant added nine points a team-best five assists.
Senior guard Kevin Raymond (Central Bucks South) had 14 points and three assists in Penn State Abington’s 99-96 loss to Arcadia. In the Nittany Lions’ 90-83 loss to Penn State Brandywine, sophomore John Ryan (William Tennent) had 12 points. In Penn State Abington’s 84-68 win over Mount Saint Mary, Raymond and Ryan both scored 12 points.
Senior Zach Quattro (Hatboro-Horsham) scored a team-high 18 points in Ursinus College’s 95-77 victory over Haverford on Tuesday night. In the Bears’ 111-85 win over New Rochelle at the Rinso Marquette Tournament at Lebanon Valley, Quattro shot 3-of-5 from distance and finished 6-of-12 from the field for 16 points. Junior Zach Muredda (Pennridge) handed out seven assists without a turnover. In Ursinus College’s 85-77 loss to the College of Staten Island, Quattro registered 11 points and 12 rebounds for his seventh career double-double.
Freshman guard Rich Dean Jr (Bensalem) contributed 18 points in Chestnut Hill’s double overtime 115-109 win over Mercy College last Saturday.
Lock Haven University sophomore Amir Hinton (Abington) was named the PSAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 12. He shared the honors with Shippensburg’s Dustin Sleva. Hinton averaged 31 points and six rebounds per game at the Wolf’s Bus Line Classic at Shippensburg University. He also went 23-of-27 from the free throw line. In the first game against regionally ranked Virginia Union, Hinton shot .524 from the field for a total of 34 points. He totaled eight rebounds and five steals in the contest. In the game versus Shaw, Hinton played all 40 minutes while scoring 28 points and hauled in four rebounds. For his performance, Hinton was selected to the All-Tournament team.
Hinton had 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals in Lock Haven’s 68-63 win over Seton Hill last Sunday. In last Saturday’s 90-83 loss to No. 6 IUP, Hinton led all scorers with 24 points and added a team-high seven rebounds. In Lock Haven’s 87-67 win at Carlow, Hinton finished the game with 19 points and six assists.
Anthony Lee (Abington) recorded 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and also came away with five steals in Kutztown’s 86-72 win over Slippery Rock last Sunday. He connected on 5-of-5 free throws. Max Wagner (Pennridge) finished with five points and three rebounds. In last Saturday’s 89-87 loss to California (Pa.), Lee scored 13 points and also had five rebounds and three steals. In KU’s 88-81 win over University of the Sciences, Lee played a team-high 39 minutes and tallied 14 points and four assists. In his first action of the season, Wagner had three points and three rebounds.
Matt Penecale (Abington) had 12 points and added six assists in 39 minutes played in West Chester’s 78-61 win over Wilmington on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 52-44 win over Gannon, Penecale had eight points and three assists.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Junior Mackenzie Carroll (Central Bucks West) had a season-high 11 points – which included a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc – in Colgate’s 74-70 win over Cornell.
Sophomore Cassidy Quattro (Hatboro-Horsham) had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Washington College’s 71-38 win over Swarthmore on Tuesday. It was the Shorewomen’s largest margin of victory over the Garnet. Quattro was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewomen Player of the Game. In Washington College’s 75-36 win over Goucher, Quattro posted her fourth career double-double with game highs of 13 points and 13 rebounds.
A career performance by sophomore Jordan Vitelli (Central Bucks South) helped lead No. 12 University of the Sciences to a fourth quarter comeback over Le Moyne and earned the CB South graduate the first Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week award of the 2017-18 season. She shared the honors with Caldwell’s Kristen Drosler. It was the second career CACC Player of the Week award for Vitelli, who was also a three-time CACC Rookie of the Week in 2016-17. Vitelli scored 17 of her career-high 27 points against Le Moyne in just eight minutes in the second half as she shot a near-perfect 4-of-5 from beyond the arc and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. She began and ended a 10-0 run with 3-pointers to give USciences its second lead of the second half, 63-60, with 6:14 to play. For the game, Vitelli made 6-of-11 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line, both of which matched a career-best. She began her season by scoring 13 points in 21 minutes in a win over Southern New Hampshire. Vitelli averaged 20.0 points in just 20 minutes per game between the two contests. She did so shooting efficiently, making 11-of-20 from the field, 9-of-18 from 3-point range and a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line. She had four rebounds, an assist and turned the ball over just once in 40 minutes.
Vitelli and Jess Huber (North Penn) each scored 11 points to combine for 22 in just 31 minutes in University of the Sciences 69-44 win over Bloomsburg. They both had three rebounds and two 3-pointers. For Huber, it was a new season high in scoring, and she also set season highs with three rebounds, two assists and a team-best two steals.
Sophomore forward Makenzie Mason (Central Bucks West) had a career-high 18 points in a perfect night from the floor as she went 7-for-7 from the field in the University of Scranton’s 76-53 victory over Marywood in the home opener on Tuesday. She also had six rebounds, five assists and two steals. In Scranton’s 64-52 win over King’s College, Mason had eight points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Senior Alexis Hofstaedter (Council Rock South) had 11 points and six assists in Holy Family’s 74-67 loss to West Chester on Sunday. In Tuesday’s 63-54 loss to Bloomsburg, Hofstaedter finished with seven points, four rebounds and game-high four assists. In Holy Family’s 76-61 loss to LIU Post, Hofstaedter had 16 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists. She shot 6-of-12 from the field and was 3-of-5 from deep range.
Senior Michael Harris (Abington) had nine points and five rebounds in American University’s 64-62 win over Vermont on Friday. In American’s 71-53 loss to George Mason, Harris had a team-high 15 points. In American’s 66-48 win over La Salle, Harris had eight points and seven rebounds.
Freshman Lizzie Oleary (Abington) had eight points, seven rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block in the University of Delaware’s 66-37 win over Eastern Illinois on Sunday in the consolation game of the Hawk Classic at St. Joseph’s University. In Saturday’s 90-87 double overtime loss to St. Peter’s in an opening round game, Oleary contributed six points, two rebounds and one assist.
Freshman Lexi Edwards (Central Bucks South) tallied a game-high 18 points in her Blue and White debut in Cabrini’s 66-53 win over Eastern. Edwards was 7-for-7 from the foul line and also had a pair of steals. The win was Cabrini’s first over Eastern in four years.
Junior Nicole Munger (Central Bucks West) contributed seven points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal in Michigan’s 74-61 win over Ohio University on Saturday.
Sajanna Bethea (Pennsbury) had 15 points and six rebounds and Sammy Lochner (Abington) had eight points and two assists in St. Peter’s 90-87 double overtime win over the University of Delaware on Saturday in the opening game of the Hawk Classic at St. Joseph’s University. In St. Peter’s 59-52 win over NJIT last Sunday, Bethea had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. In the Peacocks’ 57-46 loss to LIU Brooklyn, Bethea had seven points and six rebounds.
Senior Alysha Lofton (Central Bucks South) scored 14 points on a 7-of-14 effort from the field and also registered seven rebounds and three assists in Albright’s 58-56 loss to Lynchburg in last Sunday’s consolation game of the Mike Durgala Tournament hosted by Johns Hopkins. In last Saturday’s opening round 59-55 loss to Marymount, Lofton recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Deja Rawls (Abington) contributed six points, four assists and four steals in Siena’s 72-61 win over Howard on Saturday.
Sophomore Taylor Dunn (Central Bucks South) had eight points in Arcadia’s 62-37 win over Centenary on Tuesday night. In Arcadia’s 54-47 loss to Gwynedd Mercy, Dunn led all scorers with 17 points, which included a 3-for-6 effort from behind the arc.
Allison Chernow (Upper Dublin) contributed seven points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in Emory’s 72-53 win over Belhaven last Saturday. In Emory’s 71-56 win over Texas-Dallas, Chernow had 10 points, three rebounds and three assists. In Emory’s 76-64 loss to Rhodes, Chernow had 12 points, five assists and four rebounds.
Senior Kaitlin Kelly (Pennsbury) had 11 points in DeSales University’s 62-57 loss to Moravian on Tuesday night. In DeSales’ 79-40 win over Lancaster Bible College in the championship game of the Morgan Stanley Tip-Off Tournament last Sunday, Kelly had nine points. In the Bulldogs’ 85-45 win over Alvernia in the opening round of the tournament, Kelly contributed 14 points and five assists off the bench.
Redshirt junior Erin Maher (North Penn) recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and two steals in Jefferson University’s 68-56 win over Shippensburg on Tuesday. Redshirt sophomore Alynna Williams (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had four points, six assists and five steals.
Larissa Leyes (Upper Dublin) had seven points and three assists in Gwynedd Mercy’s 61-50 win over Penn-State Harrisburg last Saturday.
Allison Gallagher (Souderton) had a team-high 18 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists in Widener’s 71-44 win over Neumann on Tuesday night. Devan Rimmer (Pennridge) added 16 points and four rebounds. In Widener’s 81-58 loss to Drew University in the championship game of the Drew University Tip-Off Tournament, Gallagher had nine points, three rebounds and three steals. In Widener’s 70-63 victory over Albertus Magnus in an opening round game, Gallagher had 13 points and seven rebounds while Rimmer added nine points. In Widener’s 91-57 win over Swarthmore, Rimmer had nine points while Breezy Cullen (North Penn) had three rebounds.
Senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Penn) matched her career-high with 27 points in Chestnut Hill’s 93-80 win at Mercy College on Saturday. She hit 9-of-12 shots from the field (.750), 7-of-8 (.875) from 3-point range and 2-of-2 at the free throw line. She also recorded three rebounds, a block and five steals. In Chestnut Hill’s 94-74 loss to East Stroudsburg, Tumasz scored 18 points, connecting on 6-of-13 shots. She scored half of her baskets from beyond the arc (3-of-8). She was 3-of-4 from the free throw line and grabbed eight rebounds in her fourth straight double-digit scoring performance. In Chestnut Hill’s 88-79 loss to Kutztown, Tumasz recorded a double-double that included 24 points (.533 shooting percentage) and 11 rebounds. She was 5-of-9 from 3-point range and added four steals. In the Griffins’ 84-67 win over Queens at the Jefferson Challenge, Tumasz recorded 11 points, three steals and six rebounds.
Taylor Thames North Penn) chipped in eight points off the bench in Kutztown’s 73-47 loss to No. 10 California (Pa.) last Saturday. In Kutztown’s 88-79 win over Chestnut Hill, sophomore Gabbi Wright (Cheltenham) scored 10 points.
Payton Spadaccino (Council Rock South) had five points and three assists in Bloomsburg’s 63-54 win over Holy Family on Tuesday night. In last Sunday’s 78-50 loss at No. 20 IUP, Spadaccino had six points and a team-high four rebounds.

Messiah senior Kristin Donohue (Council Rock South) was named to the all-tournament team after Messiah fell to Middlebury College 4-0 in the NCAA Division III championship game last Sunday. In Messiah’s 1-0 win over The College of New Jersey in a semifinal game, Donohue notched the game winner in the 46th minute. The win propelled the Falcons to the 10th national championship game in program history.

FOOTBALL
Sophomore linebacker Jack Lamb (Central Bucks East) forced a fumble, recovered another fumble and had three solo tackles in Lafayette’s 38-31 loss to Lehigh in the Leopards’ season finale last Saturday.
After throwing four touchdown passes to four different receivers in Towson’s 29-10 victory over Rhode Island,
redshirt freshman quarterback Ryan Stover (Upper Dublin) was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Football Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 12. The honor marks the third time this season Stover was named the Rookie of the Week, the most by any player in the CAA. Stover had one of his best performances of the season as he became the first Tiger signal caller to throw four touchdowns in a game since Nov. 10, 2012. Stover finished the game 18-of-31 for 218 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 36 yards on six carries. He got the Tigers into the end zone early in the second quarter when he threw a 33-yard strike to Sam Gallahan on the post route. Stover added his second touchdown toss of the half with a 21-yard screen pass to Jabari Allen with less than a minute to play before halftime. Stover continued to lead the Tigers down the field in the second half as he rolled left and found a crossing Shane Leatherbury for a 13-yard score in the third quarter. Stover’s final touchdown pass came in the fourth quarter when he found Ellis Knudson for the two-yard touchdown off a play fake. Stover’s completion to Knudson earlier in the game marked the 21st different receiver to catch a pass from Stover this season. For the season, Stover went 189-for-341 for 2,001 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also the team’s leading rusher with 335 yards and two touchdowns.
Kutztown redshirt junior Craig Reynolds (Abington) was named to the PSAC All-Conference first team. A team
captain, the Abington graduate racked up 100 or more all-purpose yards in each of Kutztown’s first four games, scoring a combined 10 touchdowns in those four contests. Reynolds, who was hampered by injuries down the stretch, still finished the season with 1,127 all-purpose yards, earning his second consecutive first team selection. In his season debut against Assumption College on Sept. 2, Reynolds rushed for 133 yards, catching five balls for 34 yards and accumulating 168 yards in the return game for a combined 335 all-purpose yards. He earned his first PSAC East Athlete of the Week selection following this performance, an award he received for the second time on Sept. 25 for his role in the Golden Bears’ 41-21 win over Millersville.
Kutztown sophomore Luke Snyder (Pennsbury) was named to the PSAC All-Conference second team. The sophomore linebacker played in eight games, registering 44 tackles and 5.5 tackles for a loss. He was part of a tag team at linebacker for a scoring defense that ranked third in the PSAC. As a team, the Maroon and Gold gave up just 2.9 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns on the ground this season, both of which rank among the PSAC’s best. Snyder posted at least five tackles in each of the first six games of the season before his season was cut short due to injury.
Kutztown redshirt senior Jalen Nieves (Bensalem) was named to the PSAC All-Conference second team. At the ‘Rover’ position on the Golden Bear defense, Nieves
played the hybrid safety-linebacker position effectively for KU, ranking second on the team with 81 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, four sacks and three forced fumbles. In a standout performance against Shippensburg on Oct. 28, Nieves racked up a career-high 16 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble, earning him player of the game honors. As part of a unit that ranked in the top four in the PSAC in both interceptions and sacks, Nieves posted career highs in nearly every major defensive category in his final season in Maroon and Gold. Appearing in 38 career games, the Bensalem graduate amassed 255 career tackles, 17.5 TLFs, five sacks, 12 passes defended and three forced fumbles. A business administration major, Nieves is a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete, earning Dean’s List Honors following the Spring 2015 semester.
Nick Wright (Council Rock South) had eight tackles and an interception in Delaware Valley University’s 37-15 victory over visiting Husson University on Saturday to advance to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals. In last Saturday’s 35-0 opening round win over Western New England University, Wright had five tackles.
Josh Adams (Central Bucks South) had 106 rushing yards on 18 carries in Notre Dame’s 24-17 win over Navy last Saturday.

Ursinus College junior offensive lineman Brett Highland (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team. The PW graduate started every game at right tackle for a Bears’ offense that led the CC in rushing yards per game (192.1) and rushing touchdowns (24). Highland registered 23 knockdown blocks and 41 first down/touchdown blocks. He is the team’s first first team offensive lineman since 2014.
Ursinus College sophomore running back Stacey Gardner (Upper Dublin) was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team. Despite sitting out the season finale with an injury, Gardner ranked among the top five in the league in rushing touchdowns (8, 3rd), yards per carry (5.1, 4th), yards (743, 5th) and yards per game (74.3, 5th). He scored a touchdown in each of the first six games, including a 197-yard outburst in the opener against Bethany and 153 yards the following week versus Gettysburg. Gardner, who added 15 receptions, already has 1,202 rushing yards through his first two seasons.
Widener junior Vince Char (William Tennent) was named CoSIDA Academic All-District as voted on
by the College Sports Information Directors Association of American in District 4. Char also was named First Team All-MAC for the second straight year. He is fourth in NCAA Division III with 23.0 tackles for loss and is seventh with 13.5 sacks. He has 77 tackles overall on the season. His six sacks against King’s on Nov. 4 are a single game high this year in the NCAA regardless of division. It is the second season in a row he has garnered Academic All-District honors. In the classroom, Char carries a 3.85 GPA as a mechanical engineering major. He was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Honor Roll in 2015 and 2016 and
was Academic All-Conference in 2016.
Widener sophomore Andrew Thomas (North Penn) was named to the MAC All-Conference first team. It is his first all-conference recognition. He started all 10 games this season and helped anchor an offensive line that allowed just 20 sacks this season.
West Chester senior George Shipp (North Penn) was named to the PSAC All-Conference first team. The Souderton graduate accounted for 46 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks on the year. Shipp broke up two passes and tallied five quarterback hurries. He also forced one fumble and recovered
one fumble for a gain of two yards.
West Chester senior Kevin Duggan (Central Bucks South) was named to the PSAC All-Conference second team. Duggan registered 44 tackles on the year, including one sack and one tackle for loss while also recovering one fumble. Duggan also broke up one pass and forced two quarterback hurries on the season. He also came away with one interception for a gain of 31 yards.
West Chester sophomore Frank Tranzilli (North Penn) was named to the PSAC All-Conference first team. The sophomore guard was part of an offensive line that paved the way for PSAC Offensive Player of the Year Jarel Elder.
Shipp had six tackles and a sack in West Chester’s 27-6 victory over Shippensburg in the opening round of he NCAA DII playoffs last Saturday. In Saturday’s second round of the NCAA playoffs, West Chester lost to IUP 44-10.
MEN’S SOCCER
Shippensburg junior forward Cole Kropnick (Wissahickon) was named to the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-Atlantic Region Men’s Soccer second team. Kropnick is one of just five players in the PSAC this year to score double-digit goals. His season stat line in 15 matches featured 10 goals and three assists. Against Holy Family, Kropnick had two goals and two assists for six points. His 10 goals are the most by a Raider since Derrick Roy had 11 in 2013. He tallied game winners against Holy Family, Bloomsburg and Pitt-Johnstown. Kropnick’s goal against the Huskies was a golden goal, and his tally against the Mountain Cats came in the opening minute of play. Kropnick and teammate Jan Striewe are the team’s first All-Region honorees since the 2013 season.
Chestnut Hill sophomore defender Connor Bethel (Central Bucks South) was named to the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Soccer All-Academic Team. In order to be named to the team, recipients must have participated in a CACC-sponsored championship sport and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. The nominee must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
McDaniel senior Kristen Upton (Central Bucks South) was named the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in soccer. She also was one of 30 Green Terror student-athletes named to the CC Fall Academic Honor Roll. Upton, an exercise chemistry major, posted a 3.92 cumulative GPA through the end of the spring semester. Ursinus seniors Anna Budny (Council Rock North) and Kendall Couch (Upper Dublin) were named to the 2017 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.
Chestnut Hill sophomore defender Madison Slemmer (Hatboro-Horsham) was named to the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team. In order to be named to the team, recipients must have participated in a CACC-sponsored championship sport and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. The nominee must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.
Nikki Caffey (Council Rock South) spotted her team a 1-0 lead when she converted the first penalty kick in West Chester’s season-ending loss to Mercy College in the NCAA Elite Eight last Sunday. The Golden Bears fell in PKs by a 4-3 margin. McKenna Mullin (Neshaminy) worked hard in net all day, facing 14 shots and making four big saves to keep the mercy offense in check throughout the day. In West Chester’s 2-0 win over East Stroudsburg to win the Atlantic Region championship, Mullin had four crucial saves. Linzi Wolfe (Quakertown) scored a goal.
MEN’S SWIMMING
Sophomore Ogden Leyens (Upper Dublin) was part of the winning 400 free relay that posted a time of 3:14.02 in Gettysburg’s 147-115 win over Ursinus College last Saturday. Leyens held off a late rally to win the 200 free by 0.32 with a time of 1:45. 48. In Gettysburg’s 128-51 win over McDaniel, Leyens was part of the winning 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:38.65. Leyens also touched first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.89.
Shippensburg sophomore Jeff Beyer (Wissahickon) completed the 100 freestyle in a PSAC qualifying time of 48.16 at the 2017 Patriot Invitational last Saturday. He also nearly matched his personal best in the 200 freestyle, posting an 18th place finish in a PSAC qualifying time of 1:43.62 out of the ‘C’ final. On day one of the competition, Beyer cracked the school’s top 10 in the 500 freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 4:38.57. The time slots him 10th all-time for the event in the Raider record books. In the evening finals, Beyer swam a 4:41 to finish 16th.
Arcadia sophomore Mark Preedy (William Tennent) finished 10th with a time of 2:06.37 in the 200 IM at the Diamond City Invitational last weekend. Preedy was part of the first place 800 freestyle relay that posted a time of 7:19.84. He also was part of the fifth place 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.28. Preedy finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.52). Senior Jacob Schellinger (North Penn) was 16th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.29. He finished fifth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.83. On day two of the Diamond City Invitational, Preedy finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.76). Schellinger took third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.15.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING
La Salle junior Olivia DiStefano (North Penn) was named an Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week for her efforts in the Explorers’ tri-meet with Delaware and Rider. DiStefano highlighted the day for the women’s team with three first place finishes. She took first in the 100 back, touching the wall in 58.06 seconds, and also in the 50 free, clocking in at 24.66 seconds. She was also part of the 400 free relay that placed first in 3:43.69. DiStefano was part of the 200 medley relay that finished second with a time of 1:49.13.
Senior diver Sydney Szopo (Upper Moreland) won the one-meter dive with a score of 24.65 and place third in the three-meter dive in La Salle’s 171-101 loss to Penn on Tuesday. At the Bucknell Invite last Saturday, DiStefano finished second in the 100 back, touching the wall in 54.93. Szopo was fourth in the one-meter diving with 248.70 points. On day one of the Bucknell Invite, DeiStefano finished fifth in the 50 free (23.77). Szopo placed seventh in the three-meter dive with 235.00 points.
Penn State senior Tommie Dillione (Council Rock North) swam a personal best in the 500 free with a time of 4:48.82 in the prelims and ultimately finished 20th with a finals time of 4:51.62 at he Ohio State Invitational last Friday.
Arcadia sophomore Rachel Samson (Council Rock North) touched the wall at 2:20.95 to take ninth place in the 200 IM at the Diamond City Invitational. Samson was part of the first place 800 freestyle relay that posted a time of 8:13.99. She finished fifth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:58.69. A day earlier at the Diamond City invitational, Samson finished third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:24.87 and was part of the third place 400 free relay that finished with a time of 3:56.20, 12 seconds off its seed time.
Towson junior Haley Sutton (Hatboro-Horsham) finished sixth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.59 at the Bucknell Invitational last weekend. A day earlier at the Bucknell Invitational, Sutton finished fourth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.26. She also was part of the sixth place 200 medley relay (1:45.38). On day one of the Bucknell Invitational, Sutton was part of the 400 medley relay team that finished third in a time of 3:48.03. The race was scored as an exhibition.
Freshman Rebecca Warren (Council Rock North) dominated both distance freestyle races in Ursinus College’s 184-78 victory over Gettysburg last Saturday. She posted an 11:06.27 to win the 1000, more than 10 seconds ahead of second place. She came back to capture the 500 free in 5:28.68. Sophomore Margrethe Leis (Springfield Township) finished third in the 500 free with a time of 5:30.69.
Widener sophomore Sammy Grogan (Council Rock North) clocked a time of 5:24.26 to place 21st in the 500 free on the final day of the F&M Invitational last Sunday. On day two of the F&M Invitational, Grogan placed 21st in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.69), and Lauren Griffith (Central Bucks East) had a time of 1:02.91 in the 100 backstroke, placing 24th. On day one of the invitational, Griffith was part of the third place 200 free relay (1:38.74) while Grogan was part of the 400 medley relay that turned in a time of 4:05.73. In Widner’s tri-meet with Hood (207-40) and Messiah (123-138), Grogan won the 200 breaststroke with a 2:36.12 time while finishing second in the 100 free with a time of 1:12.78.
Allison McLaughlin (North Penn) was part of Kutztown’s fifth place 400 relay that posted a time of 3:38.72 on the final day of the F&M Invitational last Sunday. She finished 22nd in the 100 free, competing in the C Final. Bridget Perdoch (Pennsbury) finished 15th in the 100 breaststroke with a PSAC qualifying time of 1:10.74 in the C Final. On day two of the F&M Invitational, Perdoch posted a PSAC qualifying time of 2:34.58 in the B Final. McLaughlin finished 23rd in the C Final with a PSAC qualifying time of 25.73. On day one of the invitational, Perdoch was part of the eighth place 400 medley relay that posted a PSAC qualifying time of 4:04.37. McLaughlin was part of the 17th place 400 medley relay that finished in a PSAC qualifying time of 4:11.77.
WRESTLING
Elizabethtown senior Philip Torresani (Hatboro-Horsham) is one of two Blue Jays to place in all three tournaments this season. The Hatboro-Horsham graduate notched his second runner-up finish at the Ferrum-hosted Star City Open last Sunday. The 125-pounder used a 15-6 major decision over Washington and Lee’s Ethan Hartman and a 30-second pin of Averett’s Korpesh Gootee to reach the finals. He went to overtime tied at four with d3wrestle.com Honorable Mention Yoseph Borai of Stevens, but Borai got a takedown to emerge the victor. Elizabethtown topped a pair of nationally-ranked squads to win the team title. In Wednesday’s 22-19 victory over 14th-ranked York (Pa.), Torresani pinned Brendan McDonough 3:39 into their match at 125 pound. The win snapped York’s four-match winning streak in the series between the local rivals.
Sophomore Colin Devlin (Upper Dublin), making his season debut, picked up a 12-6 decision at 149 in Gettysburg’s 27-15 win over the University of Scranton last Sunday.
Jeff Reimel (North Penn) controlled the action in his bout at 184 pounds in Kutztown’s 24-10 loss to No. 6 Pitt-Johnstown in the PSAC opener last Friday, dispatching Brodie Englert by major decision, 10-0.
Bloomsburg junior Bruce Graeber (Neshaminy) placed second at 285 pounds at the Mat Town Open on Sunday at Lock Haven. Graeber took care of Kutztown’s John Barlow by major decision 10-1 to start the day before pinning Pitt’s Tanner Zagarino in 1:50 to clinch a spot in the championship bout. Graeber lost to Brendan Furman of Finger Lakes Wrestling Prep by decision 7-5 in the finals to finish second. At the Black Knight Invitational last Sunday, Graeber placed fifth at 285 pounds. Graeber dropped his first match by decision 8-2 to Binghamton’s Connor Calkins before rebounding to beat Army’s Robert Heald by decision 2-0. Chattanooga’s Connor Tolley knocked off Graeber in a 5-4 decision that sent Graeber to the fifth-place match. He defeated Ralph Normandia of Rutgers by decision, 5-4, to take fifth place.
East Stroudsburg sophomore Franceesco Palagruto (Springfield Township) was runner-up at 133 pounds at the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College last Saturday. The Springfield Township alum was 3-1, culminating with a first-round pin (2:05) vs. Norberto Torres of Springfield in the semifinal before faling 6-2 to Springfield's Ian Tolotti in the final.
