On the heels of his four-goal performance three days earlier, Carter Houlihan had a hand in two goals. The senior standout’s goal two minutes into the game – with an assist from Jamie Stewart – not only gave the Knights an early lead but also turned out to be the game-winner. Ten minutes later, Houlihan found Michael Chaffee for a goal that gave the Knights a 2-0 lead.
That 2-0 lead held until twenty-five minutes into the second half when Roman Ilovsky (Jake Sinn assist) scored for the 3-0 final.
“It was a good game,” coach Paul Duddy said. “I think we had the better of play, but it’s always a tough game.”
The Knights’ coached lauded the strong play of Stewart.
“Our keeper, Sawyer Meade, had a great save during the long stretch when it was 2-0, and a goal could have changed the game,” Duddy said.
Meade was credited with five saves in the shutout win.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 5, CRESTWOOD 1
Five different players contributed to the scoring for the Bucks, who capped a successful week with a no-doubt-about-it win. The Bucks seized control of the first half with three unanswered goals.
“Ryan Fitz opened the scoring on a great individual effort, hitting a rope from the left side about four minutes in,” coach Mike Moyer said. “Taylor Moyer got the second goal on a well-composed shot inside the 18.
“Gracie Miller gave the Bucks a 3-0 halftime lead on a great one-time shot that found the goal from 20 yards out.”
The Bucks added two quick goals to start the second half. Keely McGlone connected on her first varsity goal on a rebound off a corner. Erin Fitz headed home a Moyer corner kick to round out the scoring for the Bucks.
“I was really impressed with Shelby Hahn and freshman Ava Longo at center back today,” Moyer said. “Maggie Hesson, Erin Stranix, Mariella Neri and Riley Corona were excellent applying pressure today.
“After two tough division wins (over Central Bucks East and Souderton) this week, today was a much needed change of pace.
“Now it’s back to the grind because we face the 4A state runner-up and Continental champ Pennridge on Tuesday.”
Central Bucks West (3-1, 2-0 SOL) will be on the road at Pennridge Tuesday.
