SOL Patriot/Colonial crossover
SOUDERTON 2, PENNSBURY 1
Jake Luciani scored his second goal of the day with 2:23 remaining in Tuesday’s crossover game, breaking a 1-1 tie and propelling the Indians to the dramatic road win.
“I’m proud of how the young men responded to adversity today,” Souderton coach Frank Demas said. “They played with heart.
“This was a huge win for us, and it means a lot. We’re a younger team with a new coach, and every single game is hard to win. The kids were pumped. It was great for the program.”
The Indians took a 1-0 lead when Tannor Wiszneski found Luciani with a through ball and Luciani slotted it into the side netting. That one-goal lead stood until midway through the second half when the Falcons evened the score.
“We started off the game really well, but then we dropped off a little bit,” Demas said. “Midway through a sloppy second half, Pennsbury put some pressure on and tied the game on a nice volley that went off the post.
“I think that woke us up a bit, and we responded really well to giving up that goal with better possession and play. After that, we were playing really well. We were more dangerous, we were creating more chances.”
With time winding down, Luciana connected with the game-winner.
“AJ Pisoni, one of our freshmen forwards, held the ball up really nicely, played it back to Tannor Wiszneski, who found our outside forward on a breakaway, and Jake Luciani scored his second goal of the game to win it,” Demas said. “
While Luciani scored both goals, Wiszneski had both assists.
“Colin Hughes and Trent Weaver were vital in defense today,” Demas said.
Souderton (4-2-1, 4-2-1 SOL) will travel to Neshaminy on Wednesday, and Pennsbury (2-5-2, 2-4-2) will host Central Bucks East on Wednesday.

In the second half, Bridget DiMartile and Peyton Ward each added a goal.
“Mads McManus was stellar in defense, neutralizing their most dangerous attacker, Aubrey Beaugard,” UD coach John Topper said. “Ava Shohen was dangerous in attack all night, and Jordyn Levine made some timely saves to keep the clean sheet.”
