Check out the recaps for SOL girls’ basketball teams in action Friday.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 43, LINCOLN 38
The Colonials are 2-for-2 in thrillers.
For the second time in as many days, PW won a nailbiter after Lincoln battled back to knot the score at 38 late in the game. The Colonials buried some clutch foul shots down the stretch, connecting on 9 of 10 from the foul line in the fourth quarter. Kenna Winland buried 3 of 4 from the line in the closing minutes.
Lincoln boasted a front court that measured in at 5-11, 6-1, and 6-2, but the Colonials negated that height advantage by forcing 21 turnovers.
Key players: Eliza Meersman led the Colonials with 16 points, which included a 7-for-8 effort at the foul line. She also had 14 rebounds – five offensive – to complete an impressive double-double. She also had four steals. Grace Harvey added 11 points (5-for-6 at the free throw line), four rebounds and six steals. Kenna Winland contributed five points and five assists.
PW coach Dan Dougherty:
–On the game: “We had no answer at times for Lincoln’s number 21, she was the reason they tied game in the fourth; she was dominant at both ends of the floor
“We could very easily be 0-2 and feel very lucky to have come away from these games 2-0. The girls really hung tough, stuck together both games – I’m proud of them.”
–Props: “Eliza Meersman had another solid game. In the first half, Liv Patete scored nine points, sparking a run at end of second quarter to put us up 11. We came unraveled in the fourth quarter. They eventually tied it at 38 with two minutes to go. Kenna Winland was our hero today, sinking 3-of-4 at free throw line in the closing minutes to give us the lead back. The team was 9-for-10 from free throw line in the fourth.”
Up next: Plymouth Whitemarsh (2-0) will travel to Quakertown for Tuesday’s Sol opener.

Council Rock North coach Jack Kelly:
–On the game: “Credit to Coach Godino and Delco Christian on a well-played game. He did a great job making adjustments and putting his players in a position to succeed. We knew Dominique Good was a dynamic point guard, and we knew Ella Stinger was as good a shooter as we will see this season – both played great games for them and have very bright futures.
“Ultimately, for us, we had too many missed opportunities and lapses fundamentally. However, we believe this type of game will be good long-term for our young team, and we hope it will be a good learning opportunity to grow from.”

William Tennent coach Laura Whitney:
–On the game: “It was a gusty team effort tonight with balanced scoring. We came out with great energy and got off to a fast start. Unfortunately, in the second quarter, we got into some foul trouble and had some costly turnovers and let Villa back in the game. But I thought we did a good job of weathering the storm and made a nice run to close out the half.
“The second half was a physical battle that went back and forth. Each time one team would make a run the other team would answer with a run of their own. Villa’s two bigs – #30 and #33 – were tough to defend, and at times, I thought they imposed their will on us. Credit to our girls though – who showed a lot of toughness and never backed down. We made some big plays when it mattered most and did a nice job of finishing the game.”
–Props: “Staub was a huge catalyst to our fast start. She was active defensively, forcing turnovers, and she was super aggressive on the offensive end, going to the basket strong and knocking down outside shots.
“Avery played determined, with a refuse to lose attitude, and took over the game in the second half.
“Giada Cosenza came in off the bench and gave us a huge lift the second half, knocking down two 3s to help keep the momentum going.
“Aubrey Lynch gave us a spark in both halves with her relentless energy and came up with a big offensive rebound and putback in the fourth quarter.
“Meg and Hannah battled through foul trouble all night, but gave us great energy and toughness inside.”
