2nd half

P – Mikayla Loux from Maya Howard 26:54
P – G Howley from Liv Buckman 18:06

Pennridge coach Lucas Kriner:
–The game: “Slow start from us, but we found our footing in the game. Three games in five days are tough, so I’m very happy we found a way to get the ball rolling.
“Credit to Jaylin for getting the scoring started. Hers was a really good strike off a ricochet. The presence of mind to position and find the ball in a crowd then slot it home low shows her qualities.
“G and Devany’s strikes from distance were great decisions to make attempts on goal: each had time and space in almost the exact same spot on the field. Mikayla’s finish off of Maya’s service was the result of great buildup.”
–Props: “All members of the back line did a great job today and read the game really well. Liv Buckman and Cam Sauter shared the shutout.”
Up next: Pennridge will travel to Souderton on Tuesday (7pm), and Quakertown will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday (7pm).

Non-league
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, PARKLAND 0
Parkland – third in the latest District 11 4A power rankings – boasted an impressive 12-2-1 record heading into Saturday’s non-league game at Council Rock South.
The Golden Hawks have an impressive resume of their own, and they had the better of play in Saturday’s battle of district powers. They took a 1-0 lead on a Riley O’Halloran first-half goal and added two more in the second half on their way to the big win.
“We welcomed a District 11 opponent today for a non -league game,” CR South coach Nick Heim said. “It’s our fourth season in a row playing Parkland- they are always a solid team and playing opponents we don’t know much about is good preparation for playoffs. We knew they already had a dozen or so wins on the year, so we challenged the girls to set the tone for an early Saturday kick off.”
Scoring Summary
1st half
CRS – Riley O’Halloran from Lianna Shikhvarger
2nd half
CRS – Guilianna Conetta from Brooke Pavlow
CRS – Lylah Day from Ruby Bross
Council Rock South coach Nick Heim:
–The game: “We got off to a bit of a rocky start, conceding a free kick and corner early but settled in nicely. We had some success early in the first half creating in the offensive end but just couldn’t find the back of the net. We hit the post, and their goalie made some really quality saves on us. Finally, a Lianna Shikhvarger cross led to first goal as Riley O’Halloran did a great job outjumping their defender and goalie to give us a 1-0 halftime lead.
“At half, we stressed keeping the pressure on, and our group responded in terrific fashion, generating seven second half corners. One paid off, as a Brooke Pavlow corner got pinged around a bit and Guilianna Conetta was there to put it home. A few minutes later Ruby Bross found Lylah Day who beat a defender and had a tidy finish to put us up three and seal off the game.”
–Props: I thought we played a solid game today- Anna Horn was terrific in the midfield getting us going, and our back line of Kait Hickey, Maddie Mohr, Shikhvarger, Krissy Philip, Zoya Joshua, and Carly Conetta didn’t allow a shot on Maddie Hyams until Parkland had one from 40 out in the closing minutes. Sophia Smith, Claire Vizza, and Lorelei Hanratty gave us great minutes up top, allowing us to consistently have Parkland’s backs under pressure. Overall, a solid win against a quality team.
“We’re back at it on the road Tuesday against a quality, dangerous Neshaminy team.”
Up next: Council Rock South will travel to Neshaminy (7pm).
