SOL American Conference
UPPER DUBLIN 10 UPPER MORELAND 5
The Flying Cardinals remained perfect in conference play, erasing memories of losses past at Upper Moreland with a hard-fought win.
“I knew this game was going to be tough,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “It always is against Upper Moreland, especially in their stadium. We had never won in their stadium.”
UD’s Bridget DiMartile had a hand in five goals, scoring once and assisting on four goals. Maeve Hogan added a hat trick.
Keeping UM in the game was goalie Addi Hurley, who recorded 18 saves in a standout effort.
Annalise Messina’s four-goal effort led the Golden Bears.
By the numbers: Upper Dublin: Maeve Hogan (3 goals, 3 DC, 2 CTO), Ava Shohen (2 goals, 1 DC), Bridget DiMartile (1 goal, 4 assists, 4 DC, 1 CTO), Abby Rucker (2 goals, 1 assist), Anna DiMartile (1 goal, 1 assist, 3 DC, 1 CTO), Emily Buckius (1 goal, 1 assist)
Caroline Stoffel – 5 saves
Upper Moreland: Annalise Messina (4 goals, 2 DC), Charlie Clement (1 goal), Keira Hess (1 assist), Keiley Hawk (4 DC), Avery Adamski (1 DC)
Addi Hurley -18 saves
Upper Dublin coach Dee Cross: “After a very slow start and their goalie, Addy Hurley, making some point-blank saves, we were able to settle down and take better shots.
“I am proud of how the girls figured it out and made things happen down the stretch. We will learn from today and it will help us in the future.”
–Turning point: “The third quarter was our turning point, when Abby Rucker came in and scored back-to-back goals to extend our lead and get some momentum.”
–Props: “When a team has a player like Annalise Messina, no lead is safe. She makes things happen on the field and she wants the ball. Shannon Connaughton did a nice job of trying to neutralize her. It took a team effort today.
“Caroline Stoffel was able to make some key saves in the third also that helped to get the ball back.”
Upper Moreland coach Kim Frantz: “This was overall a great game by both teams. Coming into the game, we knew it was going to be a tough game. UD is having a great season, they are well coached, and a talented team. Our defense was able to make UD work for most goals which was nice to see.
“Addi Hurley had an amazing game with 18 saves – she really kept us in the game.
“We were able to keep it close until the third quarter when UD scored four goals in just two minutes to make the score 8-5 and finished the quarter 9-5. UD did a great job passing the ball on transition and working together as a unit on attack.”
–Props: “Avery Adamski was the glue of our defense and really kept our defense communicating and working together throughout the game. Our defense consisting of Avery Adamski, Gianna Brown, Leah King, Maggie Brophy, and Madeline Cox really worked well together and really connected as a unit.”
Up next: Upper Dublin (11-1, 6-0 SOL) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Wednesday, and Upper Moreland (7-5, 3-4) will be on the road at William Tennent Wednesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 16, UPPER PERKIOMEN 7
The Patriots rolled to a 16-7 victory over visiting Upper Perkiomen. Leading the offense was sophomore Cece Hayes who scored four goals and celebrated her 100th career draw control.
“Cece Hayes is such a hard worker and goes after every ball with full intensity, so it was great to see her grab her 100th draw control today (and then add 7 more).” East coach Kelly Tait said.
The Patriots opened up a 9-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back.
Paige Dougherty also turned in a four-goal effort for East in the win.
By the numbers: Cece Hayes (4 goals, 2 assists, 8 DC), Paige Dougherty (4 goals, 3 DC), Alexis To (2 goals, 1 assist), Natalie Berndt (2 goals, 2 CTO), Emma Weisel (1 goal, 2 assists, 2 CTO), Megan Fahey (1 goal, 2 DC, 1 CTO), McKenna Lynch (1 goal), Lexi Biruk (1 goal, 1 DC)
Central Bucks East coach Kelly Tait: “It was a great team effort today with scoring spread out among eight different players. Our offense controlled the draws and placed their shots which got us off to a 10-0 lead, allowing us to move some people around and play some girls who don’t usually get a lot of playing time. Those players all really rose to the occasion, and all made on field contributions.”
–Props: “Defensively, Bella DeHaven, Ella Menard, Kayla Matlack, Kasey Walker, Cameron Warfield and Abby DiAmico all had caused turnovers in the critical scoring area enabling us to get the ball back into the hands of our offense.”
Up next: Central Bucks East (5-4, 1-3 SOL) will host Pennridge on Wednesday.
