Springfield Twp coach Riley Woron:
–The game: “It was close on the scoreboard as we just weren’t finding that final pass on a day where our midfield moved the ball very well.
“Credit to Pennridge for staying disciplined defensively and getting numbers behind the ball on every play.
“We have little rest as we go again tomorrow at Council Rock North. Hoping to continue getting positive results in whatever way is needed that day.”
Up next: Springfield Twp will be on the road at Council Rock North for a non-league SOL crossover game Tuesday, and Pennridge will be on the road at Quakertown Tuesday (7pm).

The Indians threw some serious defense at their visitors and did not allow a shot in the shutout win.
Owen Alderfer and Cole Manners scored first-half goals, and that was more than enough to propel the Indians to the non-league win.

Souderton coach Frank Demas:
“Souderton played a really solid game all around, scoring two goals in the first half to get the win. The first goal came off a great ball forward from Kyle that Owen headed in.
“Second goal came shortly thereafter. Brayden Muller was fouled on the top of the box. Cole Manners then stepped up and buried the free kick.”
–Props: “Shoutout to Trevor in goal for the clean sheet, but also to our entire defense group who allowed zero total shots in the game.
“Good day all around from all the Souderton players.”

Non-league
North Penn 4, Perkiomen Valley 3
Annaliese Marnien spotted the Knights a 1-0 halftime lead that grew to 4-0, but any thoughts that this was going to be easy were put to rest by a never-say-die Viking squad that reeled off three straight goals. PV came within a shot off the post of tying the game in the closing minutes as the Knights escaped with the win.
“I credit PV for playing so hard and making us really have to earn the win,” North Penn coach Mike Rio said. “They honestly were unlucky too with the shot that hit the post. They really just fought and that’s a really good team. My hat goes off to them. They stayed focused and took advantage of the chances that came when we started to get a little lackadaisical.
“It was a really great game and I’m glad we got the win, and there’s always stuff to build on as we look forward to a good Wissahickon team tomorrow.”

North Penn coach Mike Rio:
–The game: “Always good to walk away with the win, but we controlled the first two-thirds of the game and were up 4-0 and let PV back into it. Tons of credit to them, they just never stopped and really played until the final whistle even hitting the post with about 1:30 left.
“Lani scored in the first half off a ball that bounced out on a corner with an absolute rocket to the top corner. We took a 1-0 lead into the half, and I thought we were controlling the game well.
“Second half we came out on fire, Annaliese scored on a great breakaway after Lani played a through ball, and then Xienna scored on a great through ball from Avery Krepps. Annaliese then added another with a beautiful shot from the wide side of the 18 that went into the far post.”
