Central Bucks West coach John Adair:
–The game: “Credit to Pennsbury which is a really good team this year and had plenty of the ball against us today, but it’s another game for us where as a coaching staff we feel so much pride because of how our boys competed. We’re dealing with some knocks that probably kept us from being at our best, but this team is really playing for each other at the moment, and it’s come at a great time.
“Every player put in a performance that we can be proud of today. These afternoon games can throw a bit of a curveball at the boys that questions their mentality, and last time we came out completely flat and were punished. Today we were up for it from the opening whistle and stayed focused to see out a really good result against a really good team.”
–Props: “Alex Abbasi continues to be great in goal for us. Our back line was terrific again today and defended so well when we had to do more defending than we would’ve liked. Zach Schaefer probably gave his best minutes of the season at wingback today, and Beck Walton led the line incredibly well. He linked play that helped us get up the pitch in important moments and played a massive role defending set pieces as well.
“This group is so easy to root for, and after a difficult start to the season, I’m really excited for them to start getting the outcomes that they work so hard for. They’re truly a privilege to get to work with every day.”
Pennsbury coach Tom Stoddart
“We played well…they capitalized on a communication issue for the goal.
“Our back-up keeper, Cooper Stubbs, came on in the second half and did a great job of keeping us in the game. At the end of the day, we couldn’t find the back of the net. Hats off to CB West. They are playing extremely well and earning the right to be on the positive end of the game.”
Up next: Central Bucks West will travel to Central Bucks East on Wednesday (7pm), and Pennsbury will host Council Rock North on Wednesday (7pm).

Second half –

Central Bucks East coach Josh Isaacsohn:
–The game: “It was a good game. Notre Dame always puts a really, really good program together, and the schools enjoy playing each other because of how competitive it is. They have a good team this year, and it was hard fought.
“I think we probably had a bit better of possession. It’s kind of like a broken record a little bit, but again, we had two or three that we left out there. They had a few opportunities on net, and the sun at their field was a pretty big factor today. They have a very narrow field and a short field, and the sun in the keeper’s eyes was a big deal, so, we finally took advantage of that. But besides that, it was just an all-around good game.
“We know now we’d like to be playing the same brand of soccer leading into a potential playoff competition against West on Wednesday night for a great event to benefit ALS.”
–Props: “Shoutout to Luca for scoring the goal. He had a really, really nice individual finish, and again, shoutout to our defenders – David Steen Trevor Matlack, Austin Stone, Dustin Weber and Charlie Haurin. They are just absolute studs in the back.”
Up next: Central Bucks East will be on the road at Central Bucks West Wednesday (7pm).

Bensalem coach Kevin Bock:
–The game: “We celebrated our seniors tonight, and it was a great night. The crowd was super loud, and they created an amazing atmosphere. The boys played outstanding. It was a high paced game with Holy Ghost being in our end for much of the early stages of the game. We started to settle in and eventually started to get some counters. We finally broke through when Jordan Posten headed a ball across the box and Chase Esposito was able to finish it. The half ended at with us up 1-0, and we were feeling good.
“The second half started off with the same high intensity as the first, but Holy Ghost was able to get a PK on a handball in the box. They scored the PK to tie up the game, but our boys kept their heads up and continued to work. We eventually got a PK of our own and Chase Esposito scored that as well. Our last goal came on a free kick taken by Chris Fielding. He took a long shot that skipped in front of the goalie and created a rebound that was finished by Declan Corbett. We then held strong defensively to keep the 3-1 win.”
–Props: “Our goalie, Joey Francis, stood on his head with several really big saves, and our defense was great. Chase just continues to amaze with two more goals to bring his season total to 32. I can’t say enough about the season he is having.”
–Special seniors: “Special thanks to our large senior class: Brian Bock, Declan Corbett, Mamadou Diallo, Artur Drizd, Chase Esposito, Cole Everett, Chris Fielding, Thomas Gomez, Daniel Kalita, Kevin McCarron, Anderson Mora-Martinez, Ben Reinert, and David Romero. I’m really happy for them and the year we are having. They are a great group of young man, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they finish up the season.”
