PENNSBURY 9, TRINITY AREA 2
The Falcons won the first game of Saturday’s twinbill at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C., erupting for seven runs in the second inning to blow the non-league game wide open.
In the bottom of the first, the Falcons plated an unearned run, and they upped their lead to 8-0 in the second, benefitting from four walks, an error as well as a single by Tyler Boraski. Delivering the inning’s biggest blow was Jordan Czerniak, who – with the bases loaded – lined a bases-emptying double to center field.
Trinity scored its only two runs in the top of the third with the benefit of just one hit.

PENNSBURY 5, GREENE COUNTY TECH 4
James Schaffer lined a two-out RBI single to left in the top of the eighth inning, breaking a 4-4 tie and propelling the Falcons to the sweep of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Earlier in the game, Greene Tech plated a pair of unearned runs in the second, but the Falcons answered with two runs in the top of the third.
Ryan Forester grounded a single to left to lead off the inning, and one out later, Charlie Cordisco was hit by a pitch. Schaffer followed and lined an RBI double to left, and a run scored when Ben Seidler lofted a sacrifice fly to center field, evening the score 2-2.
In the fifth, Carlton Crane singled to lead off the inning and scored on a two-out groundout by Jordan Czerniak to put the Falcons on top 3-2. Greene Tech responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to go back on top 4-3.
A bases-loaded walk to Schaffer knotted the score in the top of the sixth. Neither team scored again until Schaffer’s game-winner in the eighth inning.
Schaffer was 2-for 3 with a double and three RBIs out of the leadoff spot to lead the Falcons, who collected just five hits.
Mason Keith notched the win on the mound, throwing two scoreless no-hit innings. He struck out one and walked none. Aidan Kenney was credited with the save for throwing a scoreless eighth.

HAVERFORD SCHOOL 5, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 4
Less than 24 hours after earning a win over William Penn Charter, the Patriots made the road trip to Haverford School for an 11 a.m. game. They took a 4-1 lead into the sixth inning but saw it slip away.
“We had a busy week with four contests in five days – two scrimmages and two games against very high quality opponents in Hatboro-Horsham, Perk Valley, Penn Charter and Haverford,” East coach Kyle Dennis said. “All these teams will have successful seasons in their respective conferences.
“Having only one day on our field so far this season and no home games, we are excited about the quality of baseball, resiliency and enthusiasm this team has shown. We are excited to get into next week with another non-league game against a quality Spring-Ford team on Tuesday and then open up league play against CB West on Thursday.”
Nolan Behm’s one-out solo blast to right field spotted the visitors a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Haverford evened the score with a run in the bottom of the third.
In the top of the fifth, Jack Thompson drew a leadoff walk. With two outs and first base open, Chase Harlan was given an intentional walk. Colin Lynch followed and made the Fords pay, smashing a three-run home run to right field to give the Patriots a 4-1 lead.
Haverford School scored a pair in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 4-3 game, and the Patriots had a chance to add to their lead in the top of the sixth, loading the bass with one out. They came up empty and Haverford School won it with two runs in the seventh inning.
Thompson had East’s only multiple hit game, finishing 2-for-2 with a run scored. Reece Moody had East’s only extra base hit – a double.
Sam Bliss started and threw five strong innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out five and walking one.
Central Bucks East (1-1) will travel to Spring-Ford for a non-league game Tuesday.
